"Blue Dragon" is a fantasy anime series based on the video game of the same name. The story is set in a world where shadow creatures, manifestations of human emotions and will, can be summoned and controlled by their masters. The protagonist, Shu, is a young boy from a small village who gains the ability to summon a powerful shadow named Blue Dragon. Alongside his friends, Jiro and Kluke, Shu embarks on a journey to confront the tyrannical ruler Nene, who seeks to dominate the world using his own shadow powers.
The narrative begins with Shu and his companions discovering that their village has been attacked by Nene’s forces. Determined to protect their home and uncover the truth behind Nene’s motives, they set out on a quest that takes them across diverse landscapes, from deserts to ancient ruins. Along the way, they encounter allies such as Marumaro, a member of the Devee tribe, and Zola, a skilled warrior with her own shadow abilities. Together, they face numerous challenges, including battles against Nene’s generals and the exploration of the mysterious ancient technology left behind by a vanished civilization.
