"You and Idol Precure♪" centers around Hibiki Hojo, a cheerful and musically gifted middle school student who dreams of becoming a pop idol. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she encounters a fairy named Hummy, who hails from the Major Land, a magical world where music is the source of all energy. Hummy explains that the Major Land is under threat from the Noise, evil creatures that drain the world of its music and happiness. To combat this, Hibiki is chosen to become a Pretty Cure, a magical warrior tasked with protecting both worlds.

Hibiki transforms into Cure Melody, gaining the power to fight the Noise and restore harmony through music. She is soon joined by Kanade Minamino, a serious and disciplined classmate who becomes Cure Rhythm.
