Makunouchi Ippo, a shy and reserved high school student, works tirelessly to support his mother’s fishing business while enduring relentless bullying from his peers. His life takes a dramatic turn when he is rescued from a violent encounter by Takamura Mamoru, a professional boxer. Intrigued by Takamura’s strength and confidence, Ippo visits the Kamogawa Boxing Gym, where he discovers a passion for the sport.
