Description
Goro Yura is a character from the 2002 film Kamen Rider Ryuki Episode Final, which presents an alternate conclusion to the series' events. He is best known as the fiercely loyal attendant and bodyguard to the lawyer Shuichi Kitaoka. The bond between Goro and Kitaoka stems from a profound sense of debt and responsibility. Goro was once a client of Kitaoka's, and because of the time spent on his case, Kitaoka missed the opportunity to receive an early diagnosis for a terminal illness. Feeling personally responsible for his master's condition, Goro dedicated himself to serving Kitaoka for life, handling his domestic needs and acting as his protector.

In terms of personality, Goro is the complete opposite of the cynical and extravagant Shuichi Kitaoka. He is presented as a fundamentally kind, sincere, and straightforward individual. He is highly skilled in all forms of household work, including cooking gourmet meals and cleaning, and he is also proficient in hand-to-hand combat. This combat skill initially leads the protagonist, Shinji Kido, to mistakenly believe that Goro is actually Kamen Rider Zolda. While Goro is aware of Kitaoka's participation in the Rider War, he does not blindly follow his master's orders and will openly disapprove of actions he considers fundamentally wrong.

Within the story of Episode Final, Goro's primary role is as a supporting figure to Kitaoka. Unlike the main television series where Kitaoka ultimately dies of his illness, this film sees Goro actively helping his master remain alive, allowing Kitaoka to pursue a romance with Reiko Momoi. Goro's key relationships are centered on his devotion to Kitaoka. He also develops a friendly rapport with Shinji, recognizing that the well-intentioned journalist means no harm. In the alternate timeline of this movie, Goro does not inherit the Zolda deck as he does in the series finale, but his role as a steadfast supporter and capable fighter in the real world remains essential to Kitaoka's continued survival and happiness.

Though Goro functions as a non-powered human for most of the narrative, his notable abilities make him exceptionally formidable. He is a talented hand-to-hand combatant capable of holding his own in dangerous situations. When he briefly assumes the mantle of Kamen Rider Zolda elsewhere in the franchise, he utilizes the Magnuvisor, a submachine gun-like visor, and commands the powerful contract monster Magnugiga. Zolda's fighting style is exclusively long-range, employing heavy artillery such as the Gigacannon and Gigalauncher. His ultimate attack, End of World, deploys all of Magnugiga's weaponry for a devastating barrage. In Episode Final, however, Goro's development is one of quiet fidelity, demonstrating that his service involves ensuring Kitaoka can live the remainder of his life with dignity and purpose, rather than inheriting his master's violent burden.
