Description
Kamen Rider Black RX is the evolved form of the hero Kotaro Minami, who continues his fight against evil forces after the events of his previous battles. Following the defeat of the secret society Gorgom, Kotaro attempts to live a peaceful life, working as a helicopter pilot and residing with the Sahara family, who have taken him in. This period of tranquility is shattered by the arrival of a new menace, the Crisis Empire, an alien force that seeks to conquer Earth.
When Kotaro refuses to join the Crisis Empire, he is captured, his transformation belt is destroyed, and he is cast into space to die. However, the solar radiation he receives in space causes the Kingstone within his belt to evolve, granting him new and vastly more powerful abilities. He is reborn as Kamen Rider Black RX, becoming the Sun Child and wielding the power of the Sun Searcher transformation belt.
Kotaro’s personality undergoes a noticeable transformation alongside his new powers. While he retains his deep-seated sense of justice and his anger towards those who harm civilians, his demeanor becomes noticeably lighter and more optimistic. In contrast to the frequently somber and solitary hero of his previous incarnation, Kotaro is now often seen as more goofy and happy, having made peace with his past and found a new family and friends to protect. His core motivation shifts from one of revenge and survival to a proactive battle to preserve the world and the happy life he has built for himself following the downfall of Gorgom.
As Black RX, he does not fight alone. His key relationships define this new chapter of his life. He becomes close friends with Joe the Haze, a reformed cyborg who was once controlled by the Crisis Empire, and the two become trusted allies. He is also supported by Reiko Shiraki, a photographer who acts as his girlfriend, and Kyoko, a young woman with psychic abilities. His surrogate family, the Saharas, provide him with emotional support and a home. A particularly significant emotional challenge arises with the return of Shadow Moon, Kotaro's brainwashed brother figure from his past, forcing him to confront deep personal tragedy even as he faces a new enemy.

When overcome with profound sorrow, he becomes Robo Rider, a heavily armored and powerful form clad in metallic black and yellow, armed with the Vortech Shooter gun. When driven by intense rage, he transforms into Bio Rider, a blue and silver form with a fluid, liquid molecular structure that allows him to phase through attacks, slip into small spaces, and even enter an enemy's body. This ability to adapt and transform makes him one of the most versatile and powerful warriors of his era. He also commands two highly intelligent vehicles: Acrobatter, an evolved version of his previous motorcycle, and Ridoron, a car capable of traveling on land, water, and underwater.
