Description
Gadorian, also known as the Fanged Captain, serves as a major antagonist in the narrative of Kamen Rider BLACK RX. He holds the position of one of the four high-ranking commanders within the Crisis Empire, specifically leading the Strange Demon Soldiers' unit, which consists of various alien monsters. His background is tied to the monster world, as he is said to originate from Gedra, described as the darkest and coldest region of his home planet. This heritage fuels a deep-seated resentment for humanity, as he despises the people of Earth who live under the abundant sunlight he is not accustomed to.
In terms of personality, Gadorian is a creature of intense and often contradictory traits. Despite his high rank and immense power, he is notably cowardly, frequently being the first to flee from a battle when the tide turns against him. His behavior is characterized by constant, restless movements and a tendency to irritate his allies with his loud voice and very fast manner of speaking. However, this insecure exterior masks a profound and unusual sense of loyalty. He owes his life to the Empire's general, Jark, and is considered one of his most faithful minions. His obsession with his position as captain is stronger than that of his peers, largely out of gratitude to the general who appointed him. Gadorian is also quick to anger and is known for his short temper, making him a volatile and unpredictable presence among the Crisis leadership.
Gadorian's primary motivation throughout most of the series is to prove his worth to the Crisis Empire and General Jark by finally eliminating the hero, Kamen Rider BLACK RX. His role in the story comes to a dramatic head when the Empire's patience runs out. To avoid being purged by the Emperor for their collective failures, the other commanders, including Dasmader, Gatezone, and Bosgun, conspire to eliminate Gadorian and place all blame upon him. This betrayal, ordered or at least permitted by General Jark, represents a pivotal moment of development for Gadorian. He is enraged by this treachery from those he served alongside and rejects their judgment, opting for a desperate, final gambit.
In a final act of defiance and loyalty, Gadorian uses himself as a medium to transfer the massive energy of the Crisis Fortress directly into his own alter ego, a powerful monster he created from his own cells called Gedoll Ridoll. He intends for this creature to destroy RX and, in doing so, expose the general's betrayal to the Emperor. This act of self-sacrifice, transferring his life force to ensure his monster can complete its mission, ultimately leads to his demise. When Kamen Rider BLACK RX discovers a critical weakness in Gedoll Ridoll's energy absorption and defeats the monster, the energy held within Gadorian violently backfires, causing him to disintegrate into ash.
Regarding his abilities, Gadorian is a formidable warrior. He extensively uses his small, agile body to his advantage in combat, employing swift, jump-heavy movements and rapid tactical strikes. His primary offensive weapons are destructive energy rays, which he can fire from both his hands and a beam from his forehead. His most notable power, however, is not a combat technique but a strategic one: the ability to create life. He single-handedly generates the powerful monster Gedoll Ridoll from his own cells, designing it specifically to counter RX by absorbing all forms of energy, including the hero's Rider Kick and the power of the sun itself.
