Description
The Kamen Rider Kid Corps, known in Japanese as the Shonen Kamen Rider Tai, is a civilian organization that appears in the Kamen Rider V3 television series. This group was originally established during the later episodes of the original Kamen Rider series and continued its operations into the V3 series, where it became primarily associated with the new hero. The corps was founded by Tobei Tachibana, a mentor figure who previously supported Kamen Riders 1 and 2, and its purpose was to create a support network to help combat the growing threats from evil organizations.

The Kid Corps is composed of young boys from across Japan who act as the eyes and ears for Kamen Rider V3. They are easily identifiable by their distinctive uniforms, which include a hat shaped like the helmet of Kamen Rider V3 and a pendant or medallion featuring the same design. These medallions are not merely decorative; they function as communication devices, allowing the children to report suspicious activities or sightings of monsters from the Destron organization directly to the corps headquarters. In addition to these radios, the members typically patrol their local neighborhoods on bicycles and also utilize carrier pigeons as an alternative method of transmitting information.

The primary motivation and role of the Kamen Rider Kid Corps is to provide reconnaissance and support. As Destron expanded its operations, the series established a common formula where a child would witness a strange event or a monster, report it to headquarters via the corps network, and this intelligence would lead Kamen Rider V3 to the location of the enemy plot. The corps became so widespread that, within the context of the show, it was common for viewers to assume any child character encountered was likely a member. Their headquarters was initially a three-story building on the outskirts of Tokyo, but after this base was destroyed by the monster Scissors Jaguar early in the V3 series, Tobei Tachibana rebuilt it in the basement of his new sports shop, Central Sport.

Key relationships within the organization include its adult leadership. Tobei Tachibana serves as the president of the corps, and a young woman named Junko Tama, a close friend of Shiro Kazami (Kamen Rider V3), works as the communications officer at the headquarters. Several of its members are recurring characters, most notably a boy named Shigeru Tama, who is Junko Tama's younger brother. Shigeru often acts as a direct liaison between Shiro Kazami and the larger network of scouts. Other notable members introduced in the original series, such as two boys named Naoki and Mitsuru, continued to be part of the group during the V3 era.

Regarding character development, the organization itself is more of a static support system than a group of individuals who undergo significant personal journeys. The corps represents the idea that ordinary citizens, even children, can play a crucial role in the fight against evil by staying vigilant and working together. Their presence highlights the theme of community protecting itself. In terms of abilities, the members themselves are ordinary children with no superhuman powers. Their notable abilities are purely practical: skilled bicycle riding for swift navigation, the use of carrier pigeons for communication, and the operation of the radio-function medallions they all wear. After Kamen Rider V3 successfully defeated the Destron organization, the Kamen Rider Kid Corps was presumably disbanded, as Tobei Tachibana moved on to other ventures and did not reform the group for subsequent heroes.
