Description
Il Gladiatore, a muscular, middle-aged superhero with a receding hairline of black hair, stands among the most beloved figures in the superhero community. He serves in the Union of Justice, combating super villains and petty crime with unwavering confidence in his superiority. Publicly, he maintains the image of a married man with a fellow superhero husband, yet secretly operates under the alias "Glenda" on dating platforms to arrange anonymous encounters in distant locales. This double life unravels when Johnny Bolt, a super villain he arrested years prior, discovers his secret via prison informants.

Five years after thwarting Johnny’s heist crew, Johnny baits Il Gladiatore by posing as "Poppabear" online, then blackmails him with intimate photos. He demands Il Gladiatore’s assistance in a heist targeting Christopher Matts, alias The Bastard—a notorious super villain. Initially resistant to criminal collaboration, Il Gladiatore relents upon learning the target is a villain and that the crew will confront The Praetorian, a corrupt superhero he despises for disgracing heroism. Johnny seals the deal by pledging his heist share to an LGBTQ charity.

During the heist, Il Gladiatore openly scorns the villain crew, particularly resenting Johnny’s derogatory use of "Glenda" and sexuality-based mockery. He recoils at their brutal tactics, like the Diesel Brothers regenerating through laser grids. As the crew’s muscle, his role is to engage The Praetorian if he intervenes.

When The Praetorian arrives mid-heist, Il Gladiatore initially lets the villains suffer defeat. But his hatred for the corrupt hero’s alliance with The Bastard overpowers restraint. He intervenes with a single, catastrophic punch that cripples The Praetorian with permanent brain damage. After securing the crew’s escape with stolen funds, he severs all ties.

To nullify future blackmail, Il Gladiatore proactively announces his homosexuality publicly, gaining community acceptance. His sole superhuman ability—immense strength and combat mastery—enables effortless domination over villain groups and formidable heroes like The Praetorian. Personality assessments deem him pragmatic, analytical, and risk-taking, driven by a core need for control and aversion to vulnerability, while clinging to a personal code of justice despite moral compromises.
