Live action TV
Description
Miyako Yumenokōji is a character exclusive to the live-action television adaptation of Sukeban Deka, created for the original 1985 drama series rather than the manga or anime OVA. Born on June 20, 1968, she becomes the new boss, or sukeban, of Takanoha High School after the departure of Saki Asamiya. Her personal motto is that a delinquent girl must be not only strong but also beautiful, and she is rarely seen without a hand mirror and makeup kit. She demands that her underlings address her as bancho, meaning gang leader. Initially, she serves as a rival to Saki, as she takes pride in her position and appearance. However, she is later manipulated by the antagonist Remi Mizuchi, who exploits her. After a crisis in which many students are expelled as a result of Remi’s schemes, Miyako feels a deep sense of responsibility and attempts suicide. She survives the attempt and, following this turning point, undergoes a change of heart. Together with her followers, she begins to cooperate with Saki, setting aside her earlier antagonism. In terms of abilities, Miyako is a capable fighter who commands a group of loyal subordinates, and her dedication to maintaining an image of strength and beauty is a defining trait throughout her arc.
