Ralph Horner is an American scientist who appears in the live-action television adaptation of Sukeban Deka rather than in the animated version. He goes into hiding in Japan together with his daughter, Amy Horner, and the pair become the focus of a search when Gozou Mizuchi proposes that Saki Asamiya help him track down the American scientist. Instead of assisting with that plan, Saki and her companions work to protect Amy, and in the episode centred on the Horner family, Saki and her group ultimately rescue both Ralph and Amy from the danger closing in on them. Ralph's predicament is tied to the larger mystery surrounding Saki's own origins, since the events leave Saki distressed over the possibility that she might be Mizuchi's daughter.
