Description
Yūga Gōha, operating under the alias Guruguru (Swirly), serves as a significant antagonist in the Goha Employee arc. He bears a strong resemblance to Yuga Ohdo, distinguished by his white hair with red accents. As Guruguru, he conceals his identity within an aqua-colored lizard costume featuring a red polka-dot bowtie. His personality is marked by sadism and cruelty, driven by a motivation to use dueling as a tool to inflict devastation and despair upon opponents.
Introduced initially as the malicious "Swirly," he defeats Otes to further schemes aimed at undermining dueling itself. He subsequently duels Mimi Imimi, strategically employing a deck similar to Yugi Muto's classic deck to achieve victory. His actions escalate as he orchestrates the brainwashing of numerous individuals, including Goha employees and the Goha Siblings—Yuro, Yujin, Yuka, and Yuran—culminating in a win against Yuo Goha. These efforts advance his broader scheme to impose a destructive vision on dueling culture.
Yūga Gōha's true identity is later revealed as the concealed sixth Goha sibling, establishing him as a legitimate heir within the Goha corporate structure. His dueling deck reflects themes of reptiles and manipulation, utilizing monsters such as Mechaleon, Princessleon, and Predator Gunleon, alongside spells and traps like Elegy of Eternal Darkness and Extreme Rage Release.
A critical duel against Yuga Ohdo and Lucidien "Luke" Kallister results in Yūga Gōha's defeat. This loss, coupled with the reversal of his brainwashing effects via corrupted Monster Reborn power, triggers an abrupt shift in his allegiance, resulting in a Heel–Face Turn noted for its hastiness and lack of depth, diminishing his prominence as the primary antagonist. Following this turn, he achieves an off-screen victory over Otes, though the context and implications remain unclear.
His overall narrative impact is curtailed by unresolved schemes and the abrupt transition of the primary antagonist role to Otes, who is unveiled as the mastermind behind a long-term plot to eradicate all structured dueling.
