Description
Mikiko Kawamoto, sometimes referred to as Miiko, is a supporting character in the Devilman series, appearing in the original manga, various OVA adaptations such as Amon: The Apocalypse of Devilman, and the 2018 anime Devilman Crybaby. She is a teenage girl with short black hair and brown eyes. In the manga, she is typically shown wearing a jacket, a checker hat, a scarf, and wide-legged pants with a flower pattern. In Devilman Crybaby, she is a member of the same track and field team as Akira Fudo and Miki Makimura and is portrayed as one of their childhood friends. Her background includes being saved from bullies by Miki, which formed a friendship between them. Her personality is not deeply explored due to her limited screen time, but she is depicted as an ordinary, friendly teenager. Her primary motivation is survival amid the demon invasion, and she becomes a Devilman after fusing with the demon Tollg. In this form, she gains the ability to release acid from orifices on her chest and crotch area, and her appearance transforms into a demon hybrid with butterfly wings. Her role in the story is that of a minor supporting character; she appears briefly in the later stages of the narrative, often as a victim or a transformed Devilman. Her key relationships are with Miki Makimura, Akira Fudo, and Susumu, though these are not deeply developed. Her character undergoes minimal development, as she exists primarily to illustrate the widespread impact of the demon conflict on ordinary people. Her notable abilities are limited to her Devilman powers, which are used in combat against demons. In Devilman Crybaby, she appears only for a short scene in episode 10 and does not demonstrate any special abilities on screen.
