Description
The Guyver Zoanoid is the final transformed state of Arlen Crane, the primary antagonist in the 1994 live-action film. Before his transformation, Crane is an agent of the Cronos Corporation who poses as the financial backer of an archaeological dig in Utah. He is a calculating and ruthless individual, determined to retrieve a damaged Guyver unit discovered within an alien spacecraft and deliver it to Cronos headquarters. His primary motivation is to serve the interests of the Cronos Corporation and to eliminate the threat posed by Sean Barker, the current host of the original Guyver unit.

When his plans are thwarted and he faces defeat by the Guyver, Crane chooses to bond with the damaged unit himself rather than surrender it. This act transforms him into the Guyver Zoanoid, a unique fusion of a Zoanoid and a Guyver unit. This being serves as the final opponent Sean Barker must defeat. The creature is described as being faster and stronger than a standard Guyver, and it initially overwhelms its opponent in combat.

The Guyver Zoanoid is defined by a critical flaw. The unit it bonded with is damaged, specifically its Control Medal, which is the central component that regulates the Guyver armor. This damaged state makes the being unstable and introduces a key vulnerability. The creature possesses all the standard abilities of a Guyver, such as enhanced strength, speed, and durability, but its power is amplified by its Zoanoid origins. Its primary role in the story is as a physical manifestation of Cronos's power and the final, most dangerous obstacle the hero must overcome.

The most significant relationship for the Guyver Zoanoid is with Sean Barker as the Guyver, as the two engage in a climactic battle. It is also connected to Cori Edwards, who discovers the damaged Guyver unit that Crane eventually uses. In terms of development, this form represents Crane's ultimate, desperate gamble for power and victory. His personality is largely consumed by the warrior instincts of the battle form, focused entirely on destroying his enemy.

The notable abilities of the Guyver Zoanoid include immense physical power and speed that surpass that of the standard Guyver. It retains the Guyver's signature weapons, such as the head beam and the vibrational swords. However, its most defining characteristic is not a weapon but a weakness: its damaged and exposed Control Medal. When this medal is shot, the armor begins to malfunction, allowing the protagonist to tear it off and cause the creature to liquefy before being finished off by a Mega-Smasher blast.
