Description
Oswald A. Lisker is a high-ranking inspector for the Cronos Corporation, sent to Japan to oversee the transfer of recovered Guyver Units to the organization's headquarters. He comes from a prominent American family with ties to Cronos and was originally slated to become a Hyper-Zoanoid, having undergone extensive training in combat and martial arts. When one of the damaged Guyver Units is retrieved, Lisker insists on examining it and inadvertently becomes its host, transforming into the second known Guyver, designated Guyver II. He is notably vain about both his appearance and his fighting prowess, and he takes it upon himself to personally retrieve the Unit that bonded with the protagonist, Shō Fukamachi. Lisker's role in the story is that of an early antagonist who serves as a dangerous adversary, using his superior training and the Guyver's enhanced abilities to overpower the inexperienced Shō. However, his Control Metal had been compromised when the Unit was initially lost, and under the strain of combat it begins to malfunction. During their battle, Shō exploits this weakness and strikes the Control Metal, causing it to burst from Lisker's head. Without the regulating device, the Guyver organism goes out of control and begins to consume Lisker's body from within, and Shō ultimately uses a devastating attack to end his suffering. Lisker's brief appearance provides key information about the nature of the Guyver Units and the function of the Control Metal, and his fate illustrates the lethal risk of a damaged Unit. His abilities as Guyver II include the standard Guyver arsenal, such as high-frequency vibration blades, a pressure cannon, a gravity control orb for flight and manipulation, and the Mega-Smasher chest cannon, though his damaged Control Metal leaves him vulnerable. His development is minimal due to his early death, but his arrogance and combat skill define his personality, and his defeat marks an important early lesson for the protagonist.
