Description
Honami Totsuka is a minor character in the film Battle Royale II: Requiem. Before being forced to participate in the program, she held positions of responsibility at her school, serving as the class vice-president and as the captain of the tennis team. Her personality is not explored in great depth, but it is noted that she relied on the support of her best friend, Risa Shindo, to help her manage her duties. In addition to her close friendship with Risa, she was also mutual friends with another female student, Mayu Hasuda.

Within the narrative of the brutal program, Honami's role is largely defined by her tragic and sudden death. The students were sent on a supply retrieval mission where Honami became separated from her group. Her assigned partner was a male student named Masakatsu Taguchi. During the mission, Masakatsu wandered away from the rest of the students and triggered a booby trap, which inflicted fatal wounds upon him. The rules of this particular program included electronically linked collars for each pair, meaning that when one partner died, the other would also die. Consequently, after Masakatsu succumbed to his injuries, Honami’s collar began to beep, signaling her imminent death. Despite her frantic pleas for help directed at her best friend, Risa, the collar could not be stopped and detonated, killing Honami on the spot. Her death was not the end of the tragedy at that location, as the fall of Masakatsu’s body immediately triggered further explosives, leading to the deaths of four more students. Honami Totsuka does not possess any notable combat abilities or special skills that affect the outcome of the program, and her character development is cut short by her early elimination.
