Description
Naoki Jou is a minor character in Battle Royale II: Requiem. He serves as the second-in-command of a group within the Wild Seven called the Schwartz Katze. His mother died in the terrorist attack that serves as the catalyst for the film's conflict, a loss he shares with fellow group member Ryo Kurosawa and other members of the Schwartz Katze, creating a deep bond among them. Naoki survives the initial landing mission on the island, during which the class of middle school students is deployed to eliminate Shuya Nanahara. He later participates in the beach and fortress sequences, acting as a loyal combatant. His role in the story is that of a supporting rebel fighter; he does not receive significant individual development or a focused arc, and his primary function is to contribute to the Wild Seven's defense and to demonstrate the group's collective resolve. Naoki's abilities are not highlighted as exceptional, but as a member of the Schwartz Katze he is competent in handling firearms and engaging in guerrilla warfare alongside his comrades. His key relationships are with Ryo Kurosawa, the leader of the Schwartz Katze, and with the larger Wild Seven organization, which he follows into battle. Naoki's motivation stems from personal loss and a desire to oppose the authoritarian government responsible for the death of his mother, aligning him with Shuya Nanahara's anti-government cause. His story ends during the final stand against the military assault on the island, where he perishes along with many other Wild Seven members.
