Description
Blue Hakaider is a villainous android and a prominent member of the Hakaider Squad, a group of enforcers serving the primary antagonist Gill-Hakaider. Originating from the manga and tokusatsu series Kikaider 01, he is characterized by his ruthless efficiency and his role as a persistent threat to the hero and his allies.
In terms of personality, Blue Hakaider is depicted as a brutal and pragmatic operative. He carries out his orders with a chilling dedication, often displaying a sadistic streak when dealing with his targets. Despite his capacity for cruelty, he maintains a professional and functional bond with his fellow squad members, Red Hakaider and Silver Hakaider, prioritizing the success of their collective mission over individual glory. This pragmatic nature extends to his ambitions, as he is also shown to be extremely driven, even plotting to one day overthrow his master, Gill-Hakaider.
The primary motivation for Blue Hakaider and the rest of the Hakaider Squad is to serve Gill-Hakaider's evil ambitions. A key objective is the capture of a young boy named Akira, who possesses the blueprints for a devastating superweapon called the Giant Devil tattooed on his back. Blue Hakaider actively participates in schemes to kidnap Akira, clashing repeatedly with the protagonist and his allies to achieve this goal.
Blue Hakaider plays a significant role as a recurring antagonist. He is a direct obstacle to the hero, Kikaider 01, also known as Ichiro, and his ally Jiro, the original Kikaider. In one notable scheme, he assumes his Ghostbot form of Blue Crocodile and travels to Aowami Island, where he enslaves the local villagers to construct a Hakaider base and uses Akira as bait to lure his enemies into a trap. When the squad's individual efforts fail, he joins with his comrades to form the colossal combiner robot Gattaider in a desperate final attempt to defeat the heroes and secure their prize. His ultimate fate, alongside Red and Silver Hakaider, is to be destroyed while sacrificing themselves to allow Gill-Hakaider to escape. In some continuities, the organization SHADOW later reconstructs the squad to continue their hostilities.
Blue Hakaider possesses a range of formidable abilities. His primary weapon is an electromagnetic whip capable of discharging high-voltage electricity, with which he can strike, restrain, and electrocute his opponents. For mobility, he rides a nuclear-powered motorcycle that can reach speeds of up to 600 kilometers per hour and is equipped with front-mounted rockets. He has the ability to transform into his true Ghostbot form, Blue Crocodile (also known as Blue Gator). In this form, he gains a powerful set of launchable jaws, strong corrosive stomach acid, and an egg-shaped regeneration capsule that allows him to recover from damage sustained in battle. Destroying the remote control within this egg, however, can nullify his transformation and abilities. Finally, he is capable of merging with Red Hakaider and Silver Hakaider to form the much more powerful Gattaider, which possesses flight, missiles, and the combined weapons of all three androids.
