Description
Akira is the second son of the villainous Professor Gill, making him a central figure in the conflict of the story. Because his father designed a powerful superweapon known as the Giant Devil, the blueprints for this robot were tattooed onto Akira's back, a secret that places him in constant danger. The Hakaider Squad and the evil organization SHADOW relentlessly pursue Akira to capture him and use the plans on his skin to complete the weapon.
As a young boy caught in a life-or-death struggle, Akira is portrayed as a vulnerable character, often fearful and distressed by the danger surrounding him. He demonstrates a desire to escape his fate, at one point attempting to remove the plans from his back by trying to enter a carwash or even attempting to drown himself to end his suffering.
