Description
Mizuhara is a member of the Human Liberation Army, the resistance group fighting against the Orphnoch-dominated world in the alternate timeline of the film. He is driven by a belief in the human cause and a willingness to take extreme measures to obtain the tools needed for survival and victory. His background as a resistance soldier places him in a desperate struggle where humanity is nearly extinct, and he appears to have a leadership role, having led a team to infiltrate Smart Brain headquarters in an attempt to steal the Emperor Gear. Mizuhara’s motivation is primarily tactical: he seeks the Faiz Belt, the powerful transformation device once used by Takumi Inui, believing it essential for the resistance’s fight. This single-mindedness leads him to fatally shoot Mina, a young woman who had sheltered Takumi and who was returning the Faiz Blaster to him. In the moment after the shooting, Mizuhara steals the Faiz Belt but is immediately killed in self-defense by Yuji Kiba, who recovers the belt. Mizuhara’s role in the story is brief but pivotal: his violent act triggers a chain of events that forces Takumi to reclaim his identity and confront the resistance’s internal distrust. His relationship with other characters is defined by conflict—he acts against Mina and Takumi, and his death at Yuji’s hands further strains the already fragile alliance between the human resistance and the Orphnoch defectors. Mizuhara has no special abilities beyond his human combat skills and his familiarity with resistance tactics; his significance lies in his morally ambiguous actions, which illustrate the lengths to which the human survivors are pushed and the ethical breakdown within their own ranks.
