Description
The character known as the Blue Buffalo is a Destructoid, a type of combat android created by the evil DARK organization to serve as a weapon for world domination. This antagonist appears as a primary threat in the fourth episode of the series and is remembered as one of the more formidable opponents encountered by the hero, second only to the infamous Hakaider. Physically imposing, the Blue Buffalo stands 198 centimeters tall and weighs 105 kilograms. Its design is modeled after a buffalo, possessing a robust and heavily armored body that grants it tremendous raw power. This strength is sufficient to overturn a dump truck or pull a small car with one hand.
The Blue Buffalo is equipped with a diverse and lethal arsenal of weaponry, making it a dangerous threat in any engagement. Its primary offensive weapon is the Buffalo Missile, which is formed by pulling out one of the horns from its head. Once launched, this missile can track its target like a boomerang before exploding on impact. For close-quarters combat, it possesses electromagnetic claws on both hands that can function like shears, capable of cutting through steel pipes. As a further offensive measure, it can breathe a jet of high-temperature flames from its mouth, which is hot enough to melt metal. True to its buffalo-like design, the character has a notably thick skull that can withstand up to 500 tons of force. It also demonstrates a high degree of resilience, being resistant to fire, projectiles, and electricity, and is capable of swimming and operating effectively underwater.
In the narrative, the Blue Buffalo is introduced as a demonstration model for potential buyers, showcasing its immense power by surviving a battery of tests including flamethrowers, machine gun fire, a 100,000-volt electric shock, and a direct hit from a 500-ton spiked iron ball without sustaining any damage. After this display, it is dispatched to recapture a programmer named Yukiko, who had escaped from the DARK base. The android tracks her down and captures her, using her as bait to lure the hero into a deathtrap. To ensure the trap is successful, it bribes an associate named Hanpei Hattori for assistance. This leads to a brutal and fierce confrontation, considered one of the hero's most difficult battles, which ultimately results in the Blue Buffalo being destroyed by the Denji End attack.
Despite its destruction, the Blue Buffalo is later resurrected. Along with a dozen other previously defeated Destructoids, it is revived with three times its original power to serve as a test subject for a new android, the Silver Tortoise. In this second appearance, the Blue Buffalo is ultimately defeated once more, this time destroyed by the Silver Tortoise's Pineapple Bomb. Its popularity led to a further appearance in a subsequent feature film based on the series.
