Description
Princess Sailor Moon is a special form of the heroine Sailor Moon that appears only in the series Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. She is a powerful combination of Sailor Moon and Princess Serenity, the princess of the Moon Kingdom from a past life. In this form, the personality of Princess Serenity controls the body rather than the ordinary girl Usagi Tsukino, making the transformation a dramatic departure from the cheerful heroine seen for most of the story.

Her background is tied directly to the final conflict with the forces of the Dark Kingdom. The form awakens near the end of the series after Prince Endymion, the past-life lover of Princess Serenity, is mortally wounded before Usagi's eyes. The emotional shock unlocks a hidden power within her, allowing the spirit of the Moon princess to surface and merge with her Sailor Guardian identity. This awakening represents the full emergence of her royal heritage and the immense power that had remained dormant within her.

In terms of personality, Princess Sailor Moon is the opposite of Usagi's usual warmth and tearfulness. She is cold, vengeful, and relentlessly determined, carrying herself with a distant and regal bearing. Her single-minded focus is on reclaiming Prince Endymion, and she approaches this goal with a ruthless intensity. She shows no hesitation and no mercy, and her actions are driven entirely by grief and fury over losing him.

Her role in the story is that of a climactic, overwhelming force. She appears during the final stand against Queen Metaria and the Dark Kingdom, shifting the conflict through sheer destructive power. However, because her power is so unrestrained, she becomes a danger even to those who care about her. In one instance she injures the other Sailor Guardians as well as her friend Naru Osaka while pursuing her objective, shocking her allies and showing how completely the princess's vengeance has overtaken Usagi's gentle nature.

Her key relationships center on Prince Endymion, whose fate defines her entire existence in this form. The other Sailor Guardians, her closest friends in their civilian lives, are deeply shaken by her transformation and struggle to reach the real Usagi beneath the princess's icy control. The guardian cats Luna and Artemis, who served as mentors, also witness the danger of the power they helped awaken.

Her development across this portion of the story is a struggle between the past and the present. The grief of the ancient Moon princess overwhelms the modern-day identity of Usagi, presenting a version of the heroine who has lost herself completely to her previous life. The resolution of her arc involves Usagi reasserting control over the form, bringing the princess's immense strength back under the guidance of her own heart and compassion.

In terms of abilities, Princess Sailor Moon is considerably more powerful than Sailor Moon in her standard state. She wields the immense energy of the Silver Crystal, which she uses to generate devastating attacks capable of striking down powerful enemies. Her powers are intensified by the princess's royal lineage, and she employs them without restraint, making her both the strongest force on the battlefield and an unpredictable hazard to everyone around her. The form ultimately embodies the full potential of Sailor Moon's power, one that can only be safely wielded once Usagi's own spirit is restored to control.
