Description
The Rabbit Orphnoch is a monster character who appears in episodes 24 and 25 of the television series Kamen Rider 555, and its human form is Yoshio Kobayashi. Yoshio is a young man who becomes an Orphnoch, a being that revives from death in a powerful transformed state, and his monstrous form carries the traits of a rabbit.

In terms of background, Yoshio is caught up in a mass killing carried out by Kitazaki, a member of the elite Orphnoch group known as Lucky Clover. After being attacked and killed by Kitazaki, he awakens as an Orphnoch. Rather than embracing his new existence, Yoshio is overwhelmed by despair at losing his human body and attempts to throw himself into a river. He is rescued by Naoya Kaido, another young Orphnoch, who takes him under his wing and helps him see his transformation in a more positive light. This rescue gives Yoshio a renewed sense of purpose and sets the course for his short time in the story.

In terms of personality, the Rabbit Orphnoch is cautious almost to the point of cowardice. Because the rabbit is not a naturally combative creature, his fighting style relies on careful planning, patience, and surprise attacks rather than direct confrontation. He prefers to attack from a distance with his weapon and only commits to a plan after thinking it through thoroughly. His combat ability is comparatively low among Orphnochs, and even when he holds an unresisting hostage, he struggles to finish off a stronger opponent.

In terms of motivations, Yoshio is driven by a desire to secure a place among the powerful. After meeting Kyoji Murakami, the chairman of the Orphnoch organization Smart Brain, he learns that delivering the Faiz Gear and Kaixa Gear, the transformation devices used by the heroes, could earn him membership in Lucky Clover. Hoping to gain status and power through this mission, he teams up with Kaido to lure out Kamen Rider Faiz and Kamen Rider Kaixa.

In terms of role in the story, the Rabbit Orphnoch serves as an antagonist in a two-episode arc centered on the struggle over the Rider Gears. He and Kaido first attempt to draw out the two Kamen Riders by pretending to attack Keitaro Kikuchi and Mari Sonoda. When a direct fight fails to secure the devices, he retreats, disguises himself as a police officer, and steals the gears from the riders during a fake checkpoint before handing them over to Smart Brain. Because Lucky Clover has only one vacant position, Murakami then makes him and Kaido compete to see who can defeat Kiba Yuji first and earn the spot. After a failed ambush on Kiba, Yoshio takes Yuka Osada hostage and uses the opportunity to attack the transformed Horse Orphnoch one-sidedly. When Kaido intervenes and frees the hostage, the now enraged Horse Orphnoch drives him away, and the fleeing Rabbit Orphnoch stumbles into a stadium, where he encounters Kamen Rider Kaixa and is destroyed by the Gold Smash finishing attack, turning to ash.

In terms of key relationships, Yoshio is closely tied to Naoya Kaido, who rescues him from suicide and becomes his partner in the mission. Kitazaki is the one whose lethal attack causes his awakening, and Kyoji Murakami is the authority figure who gives him his goal and turns him into a competitor against his own ally. Kiba Yuji is his assigned target and eventual vanquisher in combat, while Yuka Osada is used as a hostage, and Takumi Inui, Masato Kusaka, Mari Sonoda, and Keitaro Kikuchi are the humans he schemes against.

In terms of development, his arc is brief but complete: a newly awakened Orphnoch moves from suicidal despair to renewed hope under Kaido's influence, then grows ambitious enough to chase membership in Lucky Clover. His caution and low combat ability ultimately prove insufficient, and his failure leads to his death, making him an example of an Orphnoch whose aspirations outstrip his actual strength.

In terms of notable abilities, the Rabbit Orphnoch possesses hearing sharp enough to detect sounds up to four kilometers away and leg strength that allows him to leap up to twenty-five meters in a single bound. He fights with a bladed boomerang, which he uses to strike from a distance, and he prefers hit-and-run tactics that take advantage of his agility before he retreats to safety.
