Description
Takumi Inui is the young man who primarily transforms into Kamen Rider Faiz, though his true nature is that of the Wolf Orphnoch. In his childhood, Takumi died in an accident but was resurrected as a natural or original Orphnoch, a human who has evolved into a monstrous being. Initially, he attempted to use these newfound powers to protect others. However, during a reunion of students from the Ryusei School, a massacre occurred. The traumatic event, combined with a false memory implanted in him that made him believe he himself was the perpetrator, caused Takumi to reject his Orphnoch identity and become a drifting loner with no dreams or self-confidence.
As a result of this past trauma, Takumi projects a personality that is snarky, apathetic, and sometimes outright rude. He actively tries to avoid forming close relationships with others, not out of genuine malice, but from a deep-seated fear of betraying them or causing them harm, a personality trait known as a Jerkass Facade. He has a notable fear of hot food, a trait for which he is teased with the term "nekojita" or cat tongue, which is a lingering effect from the fire accident of his childhood.
Despite his solitary tendencies, his role in the story becomes that of a reluctant hero. He comes into possession of the Faiz Gear after a chance encounter with Mari Sonoda, who mistakes him for having stolen her bag. Though he initially tries to distance himself from the responsibility, he eventually decides to accept the role of Kamen Rider Faiz, swearing to protect humanity and fight against rogue Orphnochs who threaten them. His core motivation shifts from mere survival to a genuine desire to protect the dreams of others, even while claiming to have none of his own. His journey is defined by his complex relationships with his allies, particularly the harsh and antagonistic Masato Kusaka, and his tragic foil, Yuji Kiba, a fellow Orphnoch who wishes for peaceful coexistence. Takumi also shares a significant bond with Mari Sonoda, who lives with him and ultimately helps him uncover the truth about his past.

Eventually, he learns that the memory of him slaughtering the Ryusei School students was a lie, and that he had actually been trying to protect them from the Dragon Orphnoch. This revelation frees him from his guilt, allowing him to fully embrace his role as a hero and gain access to his most powerful form, Faiz Blaster Form.
As the Wolf Orphnoch, Takumi possesses immense physical capabilities that surpass most of his kind. He is a native Orphnoch, originally dying and being resurrected in childhood rather than being created by another monster. This form is built for speed and agility, with powerful legs that allow him to run at speeds of up to 300 kilometers per hour and deliver devastating kicks. He also possesses enhanced senses, including powerful vision that allows him to see in darkness. As Kamen Rider Faiz, he uses the SB-555B Faiz Driver and the SB-555P Faiz Phone to transform. His standard combat abilities are augmented by a variety of devices. The Faiz Shot is a digital camera that transforms into a power knuckle for his Grand Impact punch, and the Faiz Pointer is a flashlight that attaches to his leg to perform the Crimson Smash, a jumping kick that encases the target in a spiraling red drill of energy. He also wields the Faiz Edge, a laser sword.
