Description
The Arch Orphnoch, also known as the Orphnoch King, is the most powerful member of the Orphnoch race and serves as the final adversary in the story. Its physical form stands 216 centimeters tall and weighs 149 kilograms, with a design based on a grasshopper motif. The creature possesses immense physical strength, with a grip capable of crushing steel up to 1.5 meters thick, and can fire powerful light bullets from its hands.
The entity does not initially exist as an independent being. Instead, it is born from and dwells within a young orphaned boy named Teruo Suzuki. Teruo became withdrawn and antisocial after his parents died in a fire caused by another Orphnoch. He was placed in an orphanage run by the Smart Brain corporation before being taken in by Naoya Kaido and later living at a laundromat, all while being completely unaware of the immense power slumbering within him.
The Arch Orphnoch has a unique and parasitic relationship with its host. It begins as a presence lurking within Teruo’s shadow, and whenever the boy loses consciousness, the monstrous persona emerges to consume the life force of other Orphnochs in order to mature. This predatory behavior is directed almost exclusively at other members of its own kind, whom it can disintegrate and devour. Its awakening is orchestrated by Kyoji Murakami, who willingly sacrifices his own life to fully revive the King, a process that ultimately causes Teruo to die as the Arch Orphnoch takes over his body completely.
In terms of personality, the Arch Orphnoch is more of a force of nature than a traditional character. During its original appearance, it does not speak and communicates only through roars and aggressive actions, driven by a singular instinct to complete its own evolution and assert dominance. Its primary motivation is tied to the survival and prosperity of the Orphnoch species. As a special type of Orphnoch, it possesses the power to complete the evolution of others, removing their remaining humanity and granting them long life or immortality. This is achieved through a light whip emitted from its fingertips, which can bestow immortality on Orphnoch allies or fossilize enemies to be consumed as food. The creature demonstrates a sense of purpose toward its own kind, as seen when it embraces Saeko, evolving her into a fully immortal Lobster Orphnoch.
The Arch Orphnoch holds a pivotal role as the ultimate threat. Its existence is considered necessary for the Orphnoch race to continue, as they are otherwise short-lived. Upon fully awakening, it demonstrates overwhelming power, easily defeating the Kamen Riders Faiz, Kaixa, and Delta, and destroying support vehicles with little effort. Its skin is durable enough to deflect powerful Rider kicks. The only way it is ultimately defeated is through the combined effort of Yuji Kiba, who sacrifices his life to restrain the creature, allowing Kamen Rider Faiz in his Blaster Form to deliver the finishing Crimson Smash attack.
Following this battle, the Arch Orphnoch is not entirely destroyed. It barely survives and is placed in a stasis tank within a Smart Brain facility by Saeko, who believes in its eventual resurrection. The creature reappears in later stories, including as a commander for Dai-Shocker and in the Kamen Rider Outsiders series, where it is revived by Foundation X to combat the artificial intelligence Zein. In these later appearances, it is depicted as being able to speak, showing disdain for cooperating with humans and a continued desire to replace humanity with Orphnochs.
