Description
Jean Jacquemonde, also known as Jean Jacques Mondo in the OVA adaptation, hails from Lyon, France. Born to Rick Bordeau and Eugene Bordeau, his childhood was defined by abandonment when his father, afflicted by uncontrollable lycanthropy, left the family. Maria Felton adopted Jean, raising him alongside her son, Mark Felton. Tragedy struck when Trident Corporation agents, seeking Jean's latent werewolf genes linked to ancient biotechnology, killed Maria and Mark. Tea Flatte later rescued Jean from captivity in a French military research facility, leading him to join the ARCAM Corporation as a Spriggan agent on the strict condition they never examine his body.

Jean possesses the inherited ability to transform into a werewolf, a trait activated by ancient biotechnology. Initially, the transformation could be involuntarily triggered by the sight of his own blood, though he gained voluntary control during his teenage years. A near-fatal injury in Ecuador—inflicted by Oboro who forced him into his werewolf form and impaled him—necessitated life-saving surgery by Percup Ramdi. This procedure accelerated Jean's regenerative healing, but caused subsequent werewolf transformations to become inconsistent or possibly suppressed.

As a Spriggan operative, Jean frequently partners with Yu Ominae, though their moral approaches differ. Jean exhibits pragmatic ruthlessness, willing to eliminate threats as demonstrated by his execution of Fatman during the Noah's Ark mission in Turkey. Despite this, he prioritizes protecting innocent lives and upholds ARCAM's mission to secure dangerous artifacts. His personality blends calm maturity with occasional volatility, especially when confronting oppressive adversaries. His combat attire typically features practical military gear, often including a bandolier for his signature Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun.

Key missions define his arc:
- In Turkey, his first documented werewolf transformation occurred after critical injury, leading to the brutal elimination of Little Boy and multiple Machiner's Platoon soldiers.
- A mission to Romania culminated in a confrontation with his father, Rick, who revealed the origins of their lycanthropic heritage.
- During the US Army base raid in Japan, Jean fought alongside Yu and Oboro to prevent COSMOS from extracting Rie Yamabishi, though the operation failed.
- He later formed a reluctant alliance with former ARCAM enemies Iwao Akatsuki and Bo Brantz to sabotage Trident's exploitation of the South Pole Shrine. This resulted in Bo's death but successfully neutralized the Fire Snake artifact.

Beyond these primary missions, Jean appears non-canonically in "Gold Rush," assisting Yu against Trident commandos, and in "Lunar Verse," supporting Tatsuki Otsuki.
