Description
Pandora is a character from the original Pretty Cure television series, where this is the name used for her in the English dub; in the Japanese version she is called Poisony. She is one of the villains of the story, belonging to the Dotsuku Zone, a realm of darkness that opposes the heroines. She is one of the five denizens of this zone and the only woman among them, and she holds the orange Prism Stone, one of the special gems at the center of the conflict between light and darkness.

In the story, Pandora appears as an antagonist during the early part of the series, appearing from episode 12 through episode 20. As a servant of the Dark King, she works to advance the Dark Zone's ambitions and to prevent the Pretty Cures from gathering the Prism Stones. Her methods differ from those of her fellow denizens such as Pisard and Gekidrago, who summon their monsters with grand and theatrical displays. Pandora is more discreet and understated, calling forth her monster servants, the Zakennas, with a simple snap of her fingers, a quieter way of doing battle.

Her notable abilities include the summoning of Zakennas in this unceremonious manner and her role as the bearer of a Prism Stone, which ties her directly to the central struggle of the series. Over the course of her appearances she remains loyal to the Dark Zone and serves as one of the recurring threats the heroines must overcome before her time in the story ends and she is succeeded in the villains' lineup by the denizen Regine.

Pandora is depicted as an adult woman with long red hair that reaches her waist. Her key relationships are defined by her place among the five denizens of the Dotsuku Zone, her service to the Dark King, and her opposition to the two heroines, who are her primary enemies. Her role remains consistent throughout her appearances: she is an enemy of the Pretty Cures and a servant of the Dark Zone for the full length of her tenure in the series.
