TV-Series
Description
Wisdom is the guardian of the Prism Stones and resides within a parallel world for much of his appearance in the series. For most of the story, he is simply referred to as the Guardian of the Stones, with his true name being mentioned for the first time by the character Ilkubo. He is a male deity-like figure with turquoise or green hair and closed eyes, dressed in a violet tunic with long, gold braided ropes around his waist.
In terms of personality, Wisdom typically embodies a calm and knowledgeable demeanor, fitting for his name. However, he is not without his flaws and can lose his composure and panic when confronted directly or put under pressure. He may also occasionally question the events and situations around him, showing a thoughtful if sometimes uncertain nature.
Wisdom's primary motivation is the protection of the Prism Stones, which serve as the source of power for the Garden of Light and, by extension, a source of light for the entire universe. The Prism Stones are kept within the Prism Hopish, where Wisdom lives and guards them. When five of the seven stones are stolen by the Dark Zone, with the remaining two protected by the fairies Mipple and Mepple, Wisdom becomes a key figure in the effort to reclaim them. He first reveals himself to the Pretty Cure after they recover one of the stolen stones, providing them with a summoning card that allows them to place recovered stones into the Prism Hopish. After the second stone is retrieved, he gives the heroines a special diary written in invisible ink, which can only be read with a magnifying glass, an action that ultimately helps the two main Cures, Cure Black and Cure White, better understand one another.
Wisdom's key relationships are primarily with the Pretty Cure themselves, whom he relies upon to retrieve the scattered Prism Stones and to protect him from the forces of evil. He also has a direct connection to Pollun, a being from the Garden of Light. At a critical point, Wisdom transfers the collective power of the Prism Stones into Pollun, granting the young entity access to newfound abilities and enabling the Pretty Cure to perform a powerful new attack, the Rainbow Storm.
Throughout the narrative, Wisdom's role involves both aiding the heroines and becoming a target for the antagonists. Ilkubo once attempts to capture him, but is thwarted by Cure Black and Cure White. Later, when all seven Prism Stones are finally gathered, Wisdom is captured by Ilkubo in the Garden of Light. He is eventually saved when the Cures, with the assistance of the Queen, manage to defeat the Evil King. In a subsequent conflict, he is captured again, this time by the Seeds of Darkness in the Garden of Rainbows, and is imprisoned in a cage with a parrot. He makes several attempts to escape on his own, but is recaptured each time. It is through his daily conversations with the parrot in captivity that an antagonist learns the incantation for the Power of Creation. In the subsequent series, Wisdom remains in the Garden of Light with the Elder, patiently awaiting the return of the Queen.
