Description
Full Frontal is the enigmatic leader of the Sleeves, a remnant faction of the Principality of Zeon, and serves as the primary antagonist in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096. He is a figure shrouded in mystery, deliberately crafted to embody the legacy of the legendary Zeon ace, Char Aznable. Known as the Second Coming of Char or the Red Comet, Frontal's very existence is a calculated piece of propaganda designed to rally the scattered remnants of Zeon under a single, powerful symbol.

The origins of Full Frontal are central to understanding his character. He is not the original Char Aznable but a genetically altered Cyber Newtype created to be a near-identical duplicate. His physical appearance, including his blond hair and a distinctive diagonal scar above his nose, was surgically crafted to match Char's. More significantly, his memories and personality were implanted from psycho-frame material that had absorbed the lingering will of Char Aznable after his disappearance during the Axis Shock incident. However, this fragment of Char's soul was distorted by despair, as humanity failed to evolve into Newtypes despite witnessing such a profound miracle. This fundamental flaw gives Full Frontal a cold, nihilistic core that distinguishes him from the more passionate and conflicted original he emulates.

In personality, Full Frontal is the picture of calm, calculated charisma. He is an articulate and intelligent strategist who prefers manipulation and ideological debate to brute force, though he does not hesitate to employ the latter when necessary. On the surface, he is composed and even polite, treating his subordinates and even his enemies with a degree of respect. This facade, however, conceals a deep-seated ambivalence and a lack of genuine care for the Spacenoids he claims to lead. Full Frontal is fully aware of his artificial nature and sees himself as a vessel—a symbol for the hopes of Zeon—rather than as a true individual. His mask, a trademark inherited from Char, is both a tool of propaganda and a part of his persona; he once remarked that he often forgets he is wearing it, so fully has he embraced his role.

Full Frontal's primary motivation is to secure Laplace's Box, a secret with the power to upend the Earth Federation. Unlike those who seek the Box for personal power or to revive the old Principality of Zeon, Frontal's ultimate goal is to implement the Side Co-Prosperity Sphere. This plan would create an economic bloc among the space colonies to boycott Earth, causing the Federation to collapse under the weight of mass migration from a polluted and overcrowded planet. He believes that this would finally grant Spacenoids true self-governance. This vision is not born of a desire for peace but from a cynical belief that the cycle of conflict between Earth and space is endless and that the only logical solution is to ensure the complete dominance of one side.

As the leader of the Sleeves, Full Frontal holds a position of absolute authority, commanding the loyalty of fighters like his devoted subordinate, Angelo Sauper, who is fanatically loyal to him. His key relationships are primarily defined by their utility to his plan. He takes a particular interest in the protagonist, Banagher Links, the pilot of the Unicorn Gundam. Frontal attempts to recruit Banagher not through threats, but through intellectual persuasion, hoping to make the young Newtype understand and endorse his worldview. His dynamic with Mineva Lao Zabi, the heir to the Zabi family, is one of ideological opposition. She rejects his claim to Char's legacy and his nihilistic plan, arguing that he does not believe in humanity's potential, which sets the stage for their final confrontation.

Throughout the Laplace Incident, Full Frontal demonstrates overwhelming combat prowess. He pilots the crimson MSN-06S Sinanju, a high-mobility mobile suit whose design and performance are deliberately reminiscent of Char's iconic machines. His skills as a pilot are superhuman, honed by his Cyber Newtype abilities and the recorded combat data of Char Aznable. He is capable of single-handedly disabling a Federation warship and defeating multiple enemy mobile suits simultaneously with fluid, almost effortless grace. Later in the conflict, he takes command of the colossal NZ-999 Neo Zeong, a mobile armor built to harness his Newtype powers and further challenge the Unicorn Gundam.

Full Frontal's development culminates in his final battle against Banagher Links. Despite his power and conviction, the miracle generated by the Unicorn Gundam's psycho-frame forces him to confront the incomplete nature of his own existence. In his final moments, he is visited by the spirits of the real Char Aznable and Lalah Sune, who tell him to let go. His fragmented soul is then reabsorbed into Char's complete consciousness, bringing an end to the "ghost" of the Red Comet and allowing Banagher to forge a new future.
