Major Hummingbat, an officer in the specialized U.S. military unit known as the Machiner's Platoon, commanded a research facility responsible for testing the powerful and dangerous Megiddo Flame artifact. His objective centered on activating the device, an action that threatened to unleash significant destruction upon Tokyo.

During an infiltration operation, ARCAM agent Yu Ominae confronted him, leading to a physical duel. Hummingbat employed an ultrasonic wave attack, but was ultimately overpowered when his cybernetic arms were removed. This disablement neutralized him and prevented the activation of the Megiddo Flame.

In a later incident involving Noah's Ark, his colleagues Fatman and Little Boy characterized him as a relatively less formidable opponent. Following his defeat, Hummingbat acknowledged his failure by referencing a biblical parable, comparing his opponent to one of the righteous who could have spared a city from destruction.

He serves as an initial antagonist in one of the narrative's early missions.
