Monaka Towa is a central antagonist in the Danganronpa series, appearing in Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School: Future Arc as a key figure behind the events of the killing game. She is the true leader of the Warriors of Hope, a group of children who instigated the Demon Hunting rampage in Towa City, and holds the title of Li'l Ultimate Homeroom. Born out of wedlock to the head of the Towa Group, she was abandoned by her mother and subjected to abuse by her father and half-brother, which led her to feign leg paralysis and use a wheelchair as a manipulative tool. Monaka idolizes Junko Enoshima and initially seeks to spread despair as her successor, using her innocent appearance and childish demeanor to manipulate adults and peers alike. She is highly intelligent and technologically gifted, having created the Monokuma units that power the killing games. In the Future Arc, she appears as the operator of a robot resembling Miaya Gekkogahara, infiltrating the Future Foundation's headquarters to oversee the Monokuma Hunter game. She views Makoto Naegi as a weak loser because he relies on friends, and she manipulates fellow Warriors of Hope member Nagisa Shingetsu by exploiting his feelings for her. Over time, after listening to Nagito Komaeda's discussions of hope and despair, Monaka grows bored with her mission and loses interest in becoming Junko's heir. By the end of the Future Arc, she is trapped under rubble and experiences genuine despair, laughing hysterically as she realizes no one will save her, and subsequently abandons her plans to become a NEET, showing no remorse for her actions. Her notable abilities include advanced technical engineering, psychological manipulation, and maintaining a facade of helplessness to evade suspicion.
