Description
Momoko Togame is a 16-year-old magical girl from Shinsei Ward, attending Kamihama City University Affiliated School. She possesses long blonde hair usually secured in a ponytail by a red scrunchie and reddish-brown eyes, standing 161 cm tall. Her magical girl outfit features a white tunic revealing a dark cropped top, pale green sleeves with golden cuffs, dark brown gloves, a translucent ruffled skirt, green socks, and thick white boots, contrasting her civilian attire. She wields a large, curved machete, with her reddish-brown shield-shaped soul gem located on her chest.

Personality-wise, Momoko exhibits a kind, caring, and friendly nature, often acting as an older-sister figure. As the middle child with two brothers, she developed assertive and boyish traits yet retains a strong fondness for cute, girly items like stuffed animals and female idols. She frequently engages in self-deprecation about her "terrible timing," particularly concerning personal failures, but remains fiercely protective of her peers and rookies in danger.

Her backstory began when she contracted with Kyubey after wishing for "the courage to confess my feelings to the boy I like." This wish became futile when another girl confessed to the same boy first, devastating Momoko. She initially joined a team with Yachiyo Nanami, Mifuyu Azusa, Tsuruno Yui, and Mel Anna. During a witch hunt, Mel sacrificed herself to save Yachiyo and subsequently turned into a witch. Blaming Kyubey and the circumstances for Mel's fate, Momoko abandoned the group.

Following this trauma, Momoko encountered Rena Minami during a dispute at an idol concert and intervened. They formed a partnership, with Rena becoming emotionally attached. Momoko later rescued Kaede Akino from a labyrinth, integrating her into their team. She frequently mediated conflicts between Rena and Kaede, solidifying her role as their mentor and emotional anchor. Momoko also provided guidance to Iroha Tamaki in moments of distress.

Her magical abilities center on "Encouragement," with unspecified mechanics. She demonstrates high combat proficiency using her machete, including charging attacks that generate comet-like auras for enhanced damage. Her witch form, Elfriede (meaning "Elf Strength"), is the Doppel of Self-Discipline, manifesting as giant manicured fingers that attack indiscriminately. This Doppel reacts strongly to praise or criticism about its nails, directly impacting its combat effectiveness.

In later developments, particularly *Magia Exedra*, Momoko reflects more deeply on her past failures. She acknowledges her "bad timing" as a recurring flaw but gradually recontextualizes her magical girl existence as positive, emphasizing the meaningful relationships it brought her, such as with Rena and Kaede. This growth crystallizes in her realization: "I was part of the problem" regarding her missed romantic opportunity, finding solace in the connections forged through her struggles.

Her affiliations include the Kamihama Magia Union and, in the anime adaptation, the Wings of the Magius as a white feather member. While deceased in the anime continuity, she remains alive in game narratives.
