TV-Series
Description
Mana Asuha is the main protagonist of Luck & Logic. She was abandoned as an infant, a traumatic event that shapes her entire worldview. Because of this abandonment, she believes her parents rejected her for who she is, leading her to place no value on her own life. She harbors a deep desire to tear herself apart and rebuild from the ground up, convinced that becoming a different person would allow her to see her parents again or at least erase the pain of her past.
Personality-wise, Mana is quiet and rarely expresses emotion. She has sharp, watchful eyes and keeps others at a distance, preferring to be alone. She is almost always seen wearing headphones and listening to music, using it as a barrier to shut out the world. She does not form many relationships and speaks only when necessary, with the notable exception of her partner.
Mana is a Logicalist, a human who can bond with a supernatural being known as a Foreigner to fight against threats from other worlds. She is the Covenanter of Artemis, the Goddess of the Moon. Artemis is the only person Mana usually speaks to, and even then their conversations are infrequent. This partnership forms the core of her role in the story: alongside Artemis, she fights to protect the world from invading Foreigners who use Logic to cause chaos.
Over the course of the series, her relationship with Artemis begins to chip away at her isolation. Though she starts out emotionally detached and self-destructive, her bond with Artemis offers her the first real chance at connection and self-acceptance. Her abilities as a Logicalist are tied to this bond, allowing her to channel Artemis’s power in combat. She also appears as a supporting character in the spin-off Hina Logi: From Luck & Logic, indicating a continued role in the universe.
