OVA
Description
Ralgo, usually romanized as Largo in English releases, is the name taken by a being who serves as a major antagonist in the Bubblegum Crisis franchise and who reappears in the sequel OVA Bubblegum Crash as its final threat. He is not an original creation of Bubblegum Crash; his history begins in the earlier Bubblegum Crisis series, where he emerged after the death of Brian J. Mason, a powerful executive of the megacorporation GENOM. Mason's remains were transformed into an exceptionally powerful model of Boomer, a combat android, constructed using a component called the Black Box, which granted control over the orbital particle-beam satellites. The resulting entity kept Mason's mind and personality, so in essence Ralgo is Mason reborn in an artificial superhuman body, and he operated under this new name while pursuing ambitions of overwhelming power.

His personality reflects the arrogance and ruthlessness of the man he once was, combined with the cold confidence of someone who considers himself nearly a god. He speaks with an assertive, commanding tone, using a blunt masculine form of self-reference in Japanese. Ralgo was introduced as a demonstration of raw destructive ability: he linked his mind to the satellite network and annihilated three GENOM towers at once, and his combat power was so great that Priss Asagiri, the strongest of the Knight Sabers, was nearly killed in their first confrontation. His defeat in that encounter came only through the combined efforts of the Knight Sabers and the AD Police officer Leon McNichol.

In Bubblegum Crash, set one year later, Ralgo resurfaces and is revealed to be the hidden force connected to the events of the series, including the illegal army of mercenaries and the Boomer-related crimes that bring the Knight Sabers back together. The story also establishes a personal connection between Ralgo and Sylia Stingray, the leader of the Knight Sabers, tying his return into her own history and making their conflict more intimate than a simple battle against a monster. His role in the final episode, titled Melt Down, is that of the final antagonist, and he is ultimately destroyed once and for all by Sylia herself.

As a being, Ralgo is an adult male with gray eyes and gray hair cut to about ear length, and his appearance is that of a manufactured super-soldier rather than an ordinary human. His abilities center on the interface between his mind and the USSD satellite weapon system, allowing him to direct devastating orbital strikes, while his Super Boomer body gives him physical strength, durability, and a level of combat capacity described as god-like. Within the arc of the story, his development moves from a seemingly unstoppable force defeated only by teamwork, to a returning foe whose connection to Sylia is finally confronted, and whose destruction marks the conclusion of the conflict in Bubblegum Crash.
