Description
Linca is a 24-year-old swordswoman who appears as a supporting character in the television anime adaptation of Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky. She stands 160 centimeters tall and has long gray hair, yellow eyes, and a blood type of A. Her background is rooted in a lifetime of combat training, having practiced swordplay since a very young age. Her path took a crucial turn several years before the events of the series when she was saved by Marion Quinn, the head of Colset's R&D division. This rescue inspired Linca's deep and unwavering loyalty, and she subsequently became Marion's personal bodyguard, accompanying her from a distant land to the city of Colset for an important investigation.

Personality-wise, Linca is defined by her dedication to her duty as a protector and her enthusiasm for battle. She is a devoted and reliable companion, always ready to engage in a fight and thirsting for good combat. Outside of martial matters, however, she is presented as having very little knowledge or curiosity about everyday life, making her somewhat naïve or clueless about the world beyond swordsmanship. This single-minded focus on her role as a warrior gives her a straightforward and earnest demeanor.

In the story, Linca is first introduced to the protagonists Escha and Logy as Marion's close friend and bodyguard. Her primary role is to protect Marion and assist the R&D division when physical strength or combat skill is required. She often accompanies the main party on missions that involve fighting monsters or navigating dangerous ruins, where her swordsmanship proves invaluable. Her presence in the group also leads to moments of levity, as her lack of mundane knowledge contrasts with the alchemists' more varied experiences.

Key relationships shape Linca's narrative. The most significant is her bond with Marion, whom she serves with absolute fidelity. This loyalty stems from being rescued by Marion, and Linca's actions throughout the story consistently reflect her desire to protect and support Marion. Another notable aspect of Linca's background involves her many siblings. She is known to have at least seven sisters, who all look almost identical and share the name Linca. Among them, there is a more friendly older sister sometimes called San nee-san, or Big Sister Three, as well as a more malicious sister who caused trouble for Linca and Marion for a time. This family situation sometimes leads to misunderstandings, such as when Linca is mistaken for one of her siblings causing disturbances in town.

Linca does not undergo a major dramatic character arc in the anime, but her development is subtle. She gradually becomes more integrated into the group, accepting help from Escha and Logy and learning to work alongside them rather than merely acting as a lone warrior. Her interactions with the alchemists also expose her to aspects of life beyond battle, though she remains primarily defined by her combat prowess.

Her most notable ability is her skill with the sword, honed from childhood. She is a highly capable fighter, able to take on multiple opponents and dangerous creatures. This combat expertise makes her a valuable ally in the R&D division's expeditions into the Dusk-tainted lands and the Unexplored Ruins. Despite her narrow knowledge of non-combat matters, Linca's physical strength, agility, and dedication to her craft mark her as one of the more formidable characters in the series.
