TV-Series
Description
Clone is the manager of the apple orchard in the town of Colseit. Her exact age is unknown, but she is an automaton who was manufactured approximately 930 years ago by alchemists. Having lived in Colseit for centuries, she has become a respected figure in the community, someone the townspeople frequently turn to for opinions and advice. Her height is recorded as 164 centimeters.
In terms of personality, Clone is friendly, calm, and possesses a motherly disposition, though she can also be stern when the situation calls for it. True to her nurturing nature, she demonstrates a tendency to be very direct, often asking personal questions or commenting on topics others might find too private. She is also capable of a wide range of facial expressions, which is unusual for an automaton; this is a result of her having studied and practiced human-like behavior over her long life to blend in with the townspeople.
Clone's primary motivation stems from her care for the people of Colseit, particularly Escha Malier. She was a close friend of Escha's mother, Miria, and after Miria passed away, Clone took on the role of looking after her daughter. Clone often preaches or gives advice to Escha, who becomes displeased at being treated like a child regardless of the circumstances. One of Clone's greatest joys is seeing the faces of newborn children in the town, having known many citizens since their birth.
Her role in the story is that of a supportive elder figure and a source of crucial information. She manages the cultivation facility located deep beneath the apple orchard, which normally prohibits her from leaving Colseit, as her absence would suspend the facility's functions. She is also an old friend of the character Flameu. Long ago, Clone and Flameu, along with many other comrades, researched ways to save the dying earth. Flameu made Clone a promise and left behind an apple tree seedling. Clone, together with the townspeople, cared for this seedling, which eventually grew into the apple orchard of Colseit. Clone had always believed Flameu would return to fulfill her promise, and she drew The Great Adventure of the Hummingbird Princess picture book series based on this promise. However, as time passed and Flameu did not return, Clone began to wonder if her friend had forgotten.
Key relationships include her bond with Escha, whom she raises as a guardian; her friendship with the absent Flameu; and her connection to Logy, to whom she explains details about her nature as an automaton. Regarding her development, while Clone cannot create new creations herself, she can make small changes to the storage and duplication of information. She encourages the young alchemists Escha and Logy to create, stating that helping with such endeavors is the greatest happiness for an automaton. Later in the story, as Escha and Logy decide to save Flameu, Clone decides to follow them despite her usual restrictions, showing her commitment to resolving the past.
In terms of notable abilities, as mentioned, she possesses the capability for detailed facial expressions. Her primary function is managing the underground cultivation facility, which is tied to the apple orchard she oversees. She is also the author of the picture book series The Great Adventure of the Hummingbird Princess. Furthermore, according to the game's director, she seems to know specific details about Escha, including her measurements with millimeter precision.
