Description
Kai is the Supreme Kai of Universe 11, a divine being who appears during the Tournament of Power arc. As a Shinjin, or core person, he has lavender skin and black eyes, with white hair styled into a short, slicked-back mohawk. He wears the traditional uniform of a Supreme Kai, consisting of a red vest with yellow trim over a green long-sleeved shirt, black baggy pants, a blue sash, and plain white boots. He also sports the green and gold Potara earrings that signify his high divine rank.

Kai is a friendly and benevolent deity with a strong sense of justice and a deep respect for all forms of life. He is generally kindhearted and tries to maintain a positive outlook, even in dire situations. Despite this gentle nature, he can display a degree of arrogance, particularly towards other gods, such as when he pointedly ignores a greeting from Shin, the Supreme Kai of Universe 7. He is methodical and opportunistic, handling most situations with unceasing composure. He is very proud of his universe's might, initially feeling certain that Universe 11 will win the Tournament of Power and survive. However, he is also shown to be a patient and benevolent god, as he once tried to rally the other Supreme Kais to approach the Omni-Kings and request the removal of the universe erasure stipulation from the tournament, being visibly saddened when his effort failed.

Kai's primary motivation in the Tournament of Power is to ensure the survival of his universe. He places immense faith in the Pride Troopers, the superhero team of Universe 11, and is confident in their victory. During the tournament, he serves as a strategic observer from the stands alongside his universe's God of Destruction, Belmod, and their angel attendant, Marcarita. He is opportunistic and somewhat calculating, as seen when he convinced the Omni-Kings to allow Toppo to fight Goku in an exhibition match, hoping to eliminate what he perceived as a major threat before the main tournament even began.

His most significant relationship is with Belmod, his universe's God of Destruction. Unlike some other divine pairs, Kai and Belmod have a notably good relationship, frequently seen talking and conferring with one another as equals. Their lives are also linked; should one of them die, the other will perish as well, maintaining a balance between the forces of creation and destruction. He also has a close working relationship with Marcarita, whose advice he seems to heed on a constant basis. He is deeply invested in the Pride Troopers, particularly their leader Toppo, whose power he greatly admires, and their strongest warrior, Jiren, in whom he places his ultimate confidence for victory.

Throughout the Tournament of Power, Kai remains calm and composed for much of the event, even as warriors from other universes are eliminated. However, his confidence wavers when several Pride Troopers are defeated simultaneously, forcing him and Belmod to take the tournament more seriously. He is shocked when Toppo reveals his transformation into a God of Destruction candidate and is utterly stunned when Jiren is eventually overwhelmed by Goku's Ultra Instinct form. In the end, when his universe's team is finally defeated, Kai is erased along with the rest of Universe 11, though he is later revived when the winning universe uses the Super Dragon Balls to restore all the erased universes.

As a Supreme Kai, Kai has several notable abilities that reflect his divine station. He possesses the power of flight and can fire basic ki blasts. A key ability is Kai Kai, a teleportation technique that allows him to instantly transport himself to any location, including traveling between the twelve universes and even to the Omni-King's palace. He also shares a symbiotic Life Link with Belmod, meaning the death of one will cause the death of the other. Beyond these specific techniques, as a god of creation, his raw power is naturally far greater than that of an average mortal or lower-ranking Kai.
