Movie
Description
Androide 13 is a fictional character from the Dragon Ball Z film series, serving as the primary antagonist of the seventh movie. He is an artificial being, specifically a mechanical android, created by the computer of the late Dr. Gero. Following Dr. Gero's death at the hands of his own creations, Androids 17 and 18, his underground supercomputer continued his work, completing Androids 13, 14, and 15 with the sole programming objective of killing the Saiyan warrior Son Goku as revenge for Goku's destruction of the Red Ribbon Army in his youth.

In terms of appearance, Androide 13 initially has a very human-like look, which distinguishes him from his more robotic-looking counterparts, Android 14 and Android 15. He is often depicted wearing a cap and an open vest, with a relatively normal physique for a warrior. However, his most distinctive form is achieved later in the film. After his companions are destroyed, he absorbs their internal computer chips and power reactors, triggering a dramatic physical transformation into Super Androide 13. In this state, his skin turns a vivid shade of blue, his muscles expand to an enormous size, his hair becomes spiky and orange, and he loses his eyebrows, with his eyes turning a solid, pupil-less white.

The personality of Androide 13 is defined by his direct and uncomplicated nature. Before his transformation, he is articulate and speaks with a calm, authoritative tone, clearly stating his intentions without hesitation or malice. He is utterly focused on his mission to eliminate Goku and shows no qualms about attacking or eliminating anyone who interferes with this objective, demonstrating a cold and pragmatic ruthlessness. This initial eloquence sharply contrasts with his personality after becoming Super Androide 13. In this enhanced state, he loses nearly all capacity for speech and complex thought, becoming a more feral and instinct-driven engine of destruction, his personality devolving into little more than pure, mindless savagery focused on his target.

His motivation is purely programmatic; he does not possess personal ambition or a desire for revenge. He is a weapon designed to execute a specific command. While he acts as the leader of the three androids, his loyalty is not to them but to his creator's final order. He shows no hesitation in using the parts of his fallen allies to empower himself, viewing them as components rather than comrades. The key relationships in his story are functional: he is the superior unit to Androids 14 and 15, and he is the instrument of Dr. Gero's lingering will. He holds no significant connection to any other character beyond the antagonistic role he plays against Goku and the Z-Fighters.

Within the narrative of the film, Androide 13's role is to be an unstoppable force. After being activated, he confronts Goku, Vegeta, Future Trunks, and Piccolo. Initially, he proves to be a formidable opponent, matching Super Saiyan Goku in combat. However, his true power is unleashed only after he absorbs the cores of Androids 14 and 15. As Super Androide 13, he effortlessly overpowers all the heroes, defeating Vegeta, Trunks, and Piccolo in quick succession, and severely injuring Goku, pushing the team to the brink of annihilation. His defeat is unique: Goku, unable to overcome him through conventional means, gathers energy for the Spirit Bomb. Instead of throwing it, he absorbs the massive energy into his own Super Saiyan body, delivering a single, cataclysmic punch that pierces through Super Androide 13's abdomen and destroys him.

Regarding development, Androide 13 is a static character in terms of personal growth. He does not learn or change his worldview. His only evolution is a physical one: the transformation from his base form to the monstrous Super Androide 13, which also represents a devolution in his mental faculties. His notable abilities include standard android traits such as flight and the inability for living warriors to sense his energy. He possesses a signature energy attack called the S.S. Deadly Bomber, a large, red, homing sphere of energy that he claims is capable of destroying half a planet. His most significant ability is his unique absorption technique, which allows him to integrate the components of Androids 14 and 15 directly into his own body to achieve his super-powered transformation, a concept that predates a similar ability used by the bio-android Cell.
