Description
Angila is a significant antagonist and the strongest henchman serving the tyrant Lord Slug in the 1991 film Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug. He is a tall, blue-skinned humanoid with shaggy blonde hair, pointed ears, and small horns, often wearing attire reminiscent of Ancient Greek clothing, including a cape and a bandana. He possesses a muscular build and is considered fairly good-looking, intentionally bearing a resemblance in both appearance and charisma to Zarbon, another notable villain from the Dragon Ball series.

In terms of personality, Angila is arrogant, vain, and deeply loyal to his master. He carries himself with a serious demeanor and follows Lord Slug's orders without question or hesitation, even reprimanding his fellow soldier Medamatcha for doubting Slug's command to find the Dragon Balls within a single hour. His vanity is revealed in a moment where he complains about getting dirty on his day off. Angila also displays a merciless and cruel streak, as he kills an innocent villager without a second thought to retrieve a Dragon Ball. He shows no concern when his comrade Wings is killed by Piccolo, dismissing him as a fool, though he does express distress when Medamatcha is swiftly defeated by Goku. In battle, he is cocky, ruthless, and not above using underhanded tactics to gain an advantage over his opponents.

Angila's primary motivation is to serve Lord Slug's ambition of universal conquest. He is a key member of the squad sent to Earth to gather the Dragon Balls for Slug, successfully locating them in less than an hour. He personally kills a villager to obtain the three-star ball. His role in the story is that of an elite soldier and enforcer, acting as a direct obstacle to the heroes. He engages in combat with Piccolo, using his ability to extend his arms to grab the Namekian, and later teams up with Medamatcha to launch a volley of energy blasts at him. His key relationships are with his master, Lord Slug, to whom he is unwaveringly loyal, and his fellow soldiers, Medamatcha and Wings, with whom he works to accomplish their mission.

Throughout the film, Angila does not undergo any significant development or change in character. He remains a static, arrogant villain until his demise. His notable abilities include flight, the power to extend the length of his arms for grappling attacks, and the use of ki-based energy attacks. One of his primary techniques is the Full Power Energy Blast Volley, which he uses in conjunction with Medamatcha. His ultimate technique is called Evil Quasar, a Mouth Energy Wave that he fires at Goku after Medamatcha is defeated. However, Goku effortlessly deflects this blast, sending it back directly into Angila's mouth, causing his head to explode and killing him instantly.
