Description
Johannes Kleemann, also known by his preferred alias Hans Lee, is a hybrid character in the Devils' Line universe. He is a young man of twenty one years with a lean but average build. His most distinctive visual traits are his long, straight white hair, which he often wears loose to cover his left eye, and his blue eyes. The left eye is permanently in a transformed state, characterized by a red sclera and a golden yellow iris, a direct result of consuming blood to restore his vision in that eye, as he was born nearly blind in it. His attire is typically casual and baggy, such as hoodies, and he has been seen wearing a cross necklace, a gift given to him when he escaped from the ONLO research facility.
Born on January 18th as part of the 15th Hybrid Birth Project at the ONLO facility in Obihiro, Hokkaido, Hans is the child of a Chinese devil mother and a German human father. Raised solely for research purposes, he never had a legal parent-child relationship with them. His childhood was spent in isolation, subjected to experiments on wound healing and hybrid characteristics. The only solace he had were books, which gave him knowledge of the outside world and fostered a deep fascination with the sky, a concept of freedom he longed to see. At around age twenty, he escaped due to a lapse in security. Although he intended to return, a researcher named Midori Anzai urged him to run away for real, providing him with money and revealing his true name, Johannes Kleemann, before wishing him freedom and a real home. Following his escape, he traveled and was taken in by various people, including a woman named Dr. Feng Jing, who gave him the alias Hans Lee.
Hans possesses a personality that is strikingly carefree, blunt, and straightforward. He is often seen eating or with food, even in dangerous situations, and he approaches life entirely on his own terms. He is honest to the point of eccentricity, often making remarks that blur the line between truth and joke, yet he is also quick-witted and perceptive.
