Description
Mare Bello Fiore is a dark elf and one of the twin Floor Guardians assigned to the sixth floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. He is the younger twin brother of Aura Bella Fiora and was created by the guild member Bukubukuchagama. Despite appearing as a young child approximately twelve years old, his actual age as a dark elf is around seventy-six years. He has dark skin, pointed ears, golden hair, and heterochromia, with a blue right eye and green left eye. His attire consists of a blue dragon-scale leather outfit covered by a white and gold vest bearing the emblem of Ainz Ooal Gown, a forest-green leaf cloak, a short white skirt, an acorn necklace that emits a silver light, white silk gloves, and a twisted black wooden staff.

Mare’s personality is shy, timid, and cowardly, a deliberate design choice by his creator who believed the younger brother should defer to the elder sister. He often stutters when speaking and maintains a subservient demeanor in conversations. This outward nervousness, however, conceals a cold-blooded loyalty to Ainz Ooal Gown and a willingness to carry out any order without hesitation or mercy. His true nature is that of a reliable and ruthless guardian who acts with calm efficiency when commanded to fight.

Mare’s primary motivation is to serve and protect Nazarick and its Supreme Beings, especially Ainz. He views Ainz with deep reverence and is driven by a sense of gratitude and duty. His loyalty is absolute, and he carries out even the most violent tasks without enjoyment but also without remorse, seeing them as necessary for the security of his home.

In the story, Mare serves as one of the primary defenders of the sixth floor, a jungle environment, and acts as a high-level backline magic caster. He specializes in druidic and earth-based magic, capable of reshaping the terrain, creating defensive structures, summoning monstrous creatures from the earth, and unleashing devastating area-of-effect spells. His combat power is considered the second highest among the Floor Guardians, and he is particularly noted for his overwhelming strength in wide-area annihilation.

Mare’s key relationship is with his twin sister Aura, whose bold and assertive personality contrasts with his own. The two complement each other, with Aura often taking the lead while Mare supports her. He also interacts respectfully with the other Floor Guardians, though he feels most comfortable around those who display patience, such as Cocytus and Sebas. His bond with Ainz is one of devoted loyalty, and he often seeks approval from him, growing more confident when praised.

Over the course of the series, Mare undergoes subtle development. While his fundamental shyness remains, he gradually becomes more willing to express his opinions and take initiative when the situation demands it. His experiences in battle and his growing sense of responsibility help him transition from a purely obedient subordinate to a more confident and decisive member of Nazarick’s defenses. His most notable abilities include manipulating earth and stone, summoning elemental creatures, and using high-level druidic magic to control the battlefield, making him a formidable force despite his timid exterior.
