Description
Chang Changku, designated Cyborg 006, is one of the protagonists from the anime Cyborg 009 Call of Justice. Hailing from China, his past is marked by misfortune. While variations of his origin exist across different adaptations, the central theme involves a life of honest labor undone by a single, catastrophic accident. He was once a hardworking restaurant owner whose establishment was destroyed during an attempt to impress customers with a fire-breathing trick. Overwhelmed by the loss of his livelihood and home, he fell into despair, which allowed the shadowy terrorist organization known as Black Ghost to capture and forcibly transform him into a living cybernetic weapon. In other tellings, his origins are rooted in the struggles of a poor farmer or pig farmer, where constant failure and financial ruin led him to the brink of suicide before being intercepted by Black Ghost. Regardless of the specific circumstances, his profound anguish made him a prime candidate for their experiments, resulting in his rebirth as Cyborg 006.
