Description
Misora Haruki is a central character in Sagrada Reset, a story set in the town of Sakurada where most residents possess unique supernatural abilities. She is a high school student who has known Kei Asai since middle school and becomes his classmate in high school. Her defining trait is her ability to reset the town of Sakurada to a previously saved state, but this power comes with significant limitations and emotional burdens.

Her ability works in two stages. First, she must say save at a moment she chooses, which records the state of the entire town at that time. Later, when she says reset, everything in Sakurada returns to that saved moment, including the memories of all inhabitants except Kei Asai. Because her own memory is also wiped by the reset, Haruki has no recollection of the events that occurred between the save and the reset. This makes her dependent on others to know whether she has used her power. Kei, who possesses perfect memory recall, is the only person immune to the reset effect, allowing him to remember events that took place during a reset cycle. This unique compatibility is why Sumire Soma arranged for them to meet on a school rooftop, setting the foundation for their partnership.

Haruki is initially portrayed as quiet, withdrawn, and emotionally flat. This behavior stems from her extreme empathy: as a child, she felt the suffering of others so intensely that she unconsciously suppressed her own emotions as a coping mechanism. To avoid inadvertently causing harm with her power or through her actions, she created a strict set of personal rules that govern her every decision. This self‑imposed discipline makes her appear apathetic, but underneath it she is deeply altruistic and wishes to use her ability to help others. She also harbors a strong desire for a normal life and for genuine human connections, something her power makes difficult because she cannot openly share her experiences.

Haruki’s primary motivation is to be useful and to avoid being a burden. She agrees to join the Service Club with Kei, taking on requests from other students and eventually working with the mysterious Administration Bureau that oversees abilities in Sakurada. Her role in the story is that of a key operative whose reset power is used strategically to undo mistakes, reverse tragedies, and gather information. As the plot unfolds, she becomes entangled in larger conspiracies orchestrated by the Bureau and the prophetic Witch, forcing her to confront the moral implications of repeatedly altering reality.

Her relationship with Kei Asai is the heart of the narrative. He acts as her memory bank and moral compass, guiding her decisions about when to save and reset. Over time, she begins to trust him implicitly, and she later develops the limitation that she can only activate her save or reset commands when given a direct order by Kei. This dependence deepens their bond and forces Haruki to rely on another person for the first time. She also interacts with other characters, such as Sumire Soma, who serves as an initial catalyst for their partnership, and various members of the Service Club and the Bureau.

Through the course of the series, Haruki undergoes significant personal growth. She starts as a passive, rule‑bound girl who emotionally distances herself from the world. Her cooperation with Kei gradually melts her defenses, allowing her to experience and express feelings more openly. She learns to make choices that go beyond her rigid rules, and she gains confidence in her own judgment. Her power, once a source of isolation, becomes a tool she wields with purpose and awareness.

Notably, Haruki’s ability is not a simple time‑travel power. It is limited to a maximum reset window of three days, and after a reset, only Kei retains the original timeline’s memory. The reset also affects physical states, meaning injuries, destroyed objects, and even deaths can be undone as long as they occur within the saved period. This makes Haruki one of the most powerful and dangerous individuals in Sakurada, as her ability can rewrite reality itself. However, the emotional toll of repeatedly resetting time—and the knowledge that she erases everyone’s experiences—weighs on her conscience and drives her desire to find a way to live without causing loss.
