Description
Nat is a young orphan living at the Belchero Orphanage in the town of Orth, the gateway to the Abyss. He originally came from the impoverished Wharf district, where he lived with his older sister before she died, leaving him alone on the streets. The orphanage took him in and he began training to become a Delver, currently holding the rank of a Red Whistle.

Nat is one of Riko’s closest friends, along with Siggy and Kiwi. He harbors a strong ambition for his future, dreaming of one day becoming a Moon Whistle Delver like Jiruo and eventually opening his own orphanage to help other abandoned children. He is hardworking and pragmatic, with a grounded sense of responsibility that often makes him the voice of caution among his peers.

Despite his practical nature, Nat is deeply caring, especially toward Riko. It is hinted that he has romantic feelings for her, which makes him one of the most vocal opponents of her plan to descend into the Abyss. He is acutely aware of the dangers and the high likelihood that such a journey would end in tragedy, and he struggles to express how much he will miss her. In the end, he sets aside his own fears and feelings to help Riko and Reg by guiding them to the illegal diving platform in the Wharf district, playing a small but crucial role in their departure.

Throughout the story, Nat demonstrates emotional growth as he learns to accept Riko’s choice and supports her in the only way he can. He does not possess any extraordinary abilities, but he is a capable young Delver in training, skilled in the basics of artifact retrieval and cave exploration. His notable trait is his quiet determination and the maturity he shows in balancing his personal concerns with his loyalty to his friends.
