Description
Kazuma Sakai is a supporting character in the soccer-themed comedy, recognized as a member of the Fujimi High School soccer team. He is a second-year student and plays as a defender, wearing the jersey number 3. Kazuma functions as a sort of leader among a small group of teammates who are known for their troublemaking and clownish behavior, a trio that includes his friends Jin Tsukamoto and Taichi Yoshioka. Of the three, he is noted to possess a relatively more rational and no-nonsense mentality. Despite this, he readily joins his friends in playing pranks and sometimes skips club practice, highlighting a laid-back and slightly mischievous side to his personality.

The most significant development for Kazuma's character revolves around a brief but intense period of narcissism. After he changes his hairstyle to mimic the team's star player, Aoyama, Kazuma becomes increasingly self-absorbed. His behavior escalates to the point where he writes and recites absurd poetry and becomes preoccupied with checking his own reflection, acting in an exaggeratedly cool manner. This narcissistic obsession is strong enough to cause him to distance himself from his usual friends and abandon their typical antics. However, this egocentric phase proves to be short-lived, and he eventually returns to his normal self, rejoining his teammates as the same old Kazuma.

Kazuma’s role in the story is primarily that of comic relief and a supporting member of the soccer club. His actions and antics provide a contrast to the extreme cleanliness and genius-level play of the protagonist, Aoyama, as well as the more serious ambitions of other players. He is often seen as part of a group, and his brief transformation into a narcissist serves as a minor subplot that showcases the quirky and obsessive tendencies that many characters in the series exhibit. Beyond this episode, he is depicted as a fairly average player whose desire to become more attractive is momentarily awakened, threatening his position on the team and prompting other characters to raise their own game.

Information regarding extensive relationships, detailed background, or notable soccer abilities beyond his position as a defender is not available.
