Description
Haruto Tsukigami is the older brother of Kaito Tsukigami and a distinguished graduate of Ayanagi Gakuen, having left the school as the top student of his class. Born on November 3, he stands at 187cm tall and has blue eyes with blue hair that is slightly darker than his brother's, often styled with long bangs that part to the left and may cover one eye. He comes from a well-regarded theatrical family, as his father is a famous theater director and his mother is a prominent stage actress representing Japan.
Known for a kind and mature personality, Haruto embodies the ideal of a supportive older brother and upperclassman. He takes his professional work seriously and can be strict when necessary, yet he remains encouraging and wishes only the best for those around him. This sincerity is coupled with a flexible and understanding nature, as demonstrated when he supported Itsuki Otori's decision to leave his team, believing it was true to Otori's character, and later praising him as someone who could have become the head of the Kao Council had he followed a different path. Haruto also possesses a joking side that emerges on occasion, adding a layer of warmth to his serious dedication to musical theater.
Haruto's motivations are deeply rooted in his family and his art. He is driven by a desire to rise to the top of the theater world, a path expected of him as the elder Tsukigami son, especially given his brother Kaito's more delicate childhood disposition. He cares deeply for Kaito, having taken on the role of the family member in the spotlight to allow his brother more peace, and he dreams of one day performing on stage together with him. Professionally, he is a genius actor who achieved the remarkable feat of auditioning for and winning a part in a Broadway musical while still a high school student. This success has led to him being called the Prince of Musicals and he continues to be active on the professional stage, including work on Broadway.
Within the story, Haruto serves as a former member of the Kao Council who successfully coached Team Tsukigami. After graduating, he returns to the academy as a member of the Ancients, a group of distinguished alumni, to serve as a temporary coach for the second-year students, including his brother's new team. He watches the growth of these younger students from a distance with great interest. Key relationships define his presence, most notably with his younger brother Kaito, who both respects him deeply and struggles with the weight of his brother's fame. He also serves as an inspiration to Riku Ageha, who was so moved by Haruto's performance that he decided to pursue a career in musicals, viewing Haruto as his god. Haruto is one of the few characters who can fully understand both Itsuki Otori and the strict Hiiragi, acting as a bridge between their differing philosophies.
Haruto demonstrates notable development as a character who has already reached professional success, yet continues to show growth in his perspective. He has a flexible and humble approach, admitting to weaknesses such as a past difficulty with English that he had to study desperately for his Broadway work, and a lack of dexterity that he claims runs in his family. He deals with the stress of his demanding career by cutting his hair, a method recommended by his mother, and he maintains a professional policy of never leaving a performance halfway. His abilities as a performer are extraordinary; he is considered one of the most talented figures in Ayanagi Gakuen's history, possessing excellent lung capacity that allows him to sing long phrases with little breath, and he has a strong stage presence that makes him appear larger than his already tall and well-built frame would suggest.
