TV-Series
Description
Asaki Uozumi is a graduate of the Ayanagi Gakuen musical department who appears in the second season as a coach, a role referred to as an "Ancient." He stands at 185 centimeters tall, has a birthday on August 23, and his blood type is B. Uozumi has a history with the school, having attended both the middle and high school divisions as a student in the musical department. He is a former member of the Kao Council, the elite student governing body, where he served alongside Haruto Tsukigami.
In terms of personality, Uozumi often comes across as stern or intimidating; he is aware that people's first impressions of him frequently involve comments about his scary face or evil eyes. Despite this forbidding exterior, he possesses a brotherly, senpai-like side, particularly when supporting underclassmen. He is a diligent and methodical individual, preferring to handle important matters himself rather than entrusting them to others, a trait that has led to comments on school reports about him actively helping classmates, though he feels it stems from an inability to rely on other people. He has a tendency to increase his own workload, as he could not stand idly by during his time on the Kao Council. Uozumi is also characterized by a long-standing and unilateral grudge against his former friend and rival, Haruto Tsukigami. This animosity stems from an incident during their third year on the Kao Council, when a rock-paper-scissors competition to select the student Otori for their respective star teams resulted in Uozumi's loss. He chose rock while Haruto chose paper, a betrayal of trust that Uozumi states he cannot forgive and which has left a heavy feeling on his heart as a leader. As a result, he has sworn to never throw a rock gesture again.
Uozumi's primary motivation and role in the story is as an "Ancient" coach, whose job is not only to oversee the training of the second-year students but also to help raise their overall level. He firmly believes that every student has a chance and encourages them to waste no time in doing their best. His key relationships are defined by his past, most notably with Haruto Tsukigami, whom he has known since they entered middle school together, writing "friend" and reading "rival." He addresses Haruto by the nickname "Haru." While he guides students to follow the school's policies, his interactions with the second-year students also show his supportive senpai side. Throughout his appearance, Uozumi shows little sign of development in his personal grudge, but he remains dedicated to his professional duties as a coach and working actor.
As a professional musical actor who has succeeded in the field, Uozumi possesses several notable abilities. He is confident in his adaptability, noting that while some actors struggle to transition between stage and television work, he has never faced such difficulty. He has a meticulous work ethic, often reviewing scripts before sleep and recalling lines upon waking, and he spends his days off in much the same way as working days, memorizing scripts and doing chores. He cannot stand sleeping when there is a script to read. Uozumi prefers cold food, as he has a cat's tongue, and he enjoys the taste of alcohol but cannot hold his liquor well. He also states he is good with languages and social studies, while science is not a favorite subject.
