Description
Mr. Yi, whose true name is Zhao Jinyun, is the enigmatic coach of the Inakuni Raimon team in the anime Inazuma Eleven: Ares no Tenbin. He later serves as the head coach for the Japanese national team Inazuma Japan in the sequel series Inazuma Eleven: Orion no Kokuin, and also forms his own team, the Zhao Jinyuns. Prior to these events, he coached the Rojiura Shounentai before leaving them to coach Shanghai Hoshinekodan. His background is mysterious, and he is known for his peculiar and unorthodox methods. He admits to having more knowledge of kung fu than football, yet his training regimens are surprisingly effective, pushing the players to develop new techniques and tactics. His personality is strange and somewhat suspicious, often giving the impression of hidden intentions, but he genuinely helps the teams he guides. His motivations are not fully revealed early on, but he appears to be testing and nurturing young talent for a larger purpose. Throughout Ares no Tenbin, Mr. Yi plays a crucial role in shaping the Inakuni Raimon team, using odd training exercises that ultimately improve their coordination and skills. He maintains a calm, observant demeanor and rarely shows strong emotions. Key relationships include the players of Inakuni Raimon, especially the trio Asuto Inamori, Yuuma Nosaka, and Ryouhei Haizaki, whom he leads through the Football Frontier tournament. Over time, he develops into a more straightforward leader in Orion no Kokuin, where he commands the national team with strategic insight. His notable abilities lie in his unconventional coaching style, which blends physical conditioning with tactical drills, and his familiarity with traditional martial arts concepts that he adapts to soccer.
