Description
Isami Aldini is a student at the prestigious Tōtsuki Culinary Academy and is a member of the 92nd Generation, where he is known as the younger fraternal twin brother of Takumi Aldini. Born in Florence, Italy to a Japanese-Italian family, Isami has a mixed heritage that gives him a Japanese appearance but an Italian personality. He and his brother grew up working at their family's restaurant, Trattoria Aldini, where they developed a strong passion for Italian cuisine.

In terms of physical appearance, Isami has a unique characteristic that sets him apart from his brother. His body weight is known to fluctuate dramatically with the seasons. He typically has a larger, more robust build, but during the hot summer months combined with the stress of exams, he loses a significant amount of weight and transforms into a much slimmer and conventionally handsome young man. This striking transformation often surprises his peers, and he usually regains the weight in winter.

Personality-wise, Isami is generally cheerful, calm, and more level-headed than his older brother. He has a jovial nature and is often seen laughing when Takumi embarrasses himself or becomes overly dramatic about his rivalry with others. Despite his large stature, he is emotionally sensitive and quite clingy, though he can also be unexpectedly nervous in high-pressure situations like major cooking competitions. When Isami becomes completely focused on cooking, he enters an intense "berserk mode" where his expression changes to something more fierce and focused.

Isami's primary motivation is to improve as a chef and gain recognition for his skills, moving past feelings of inferiority due to his brother's superior natural talent. He deeply loves his family and shares a strong bond with Takumi, with their shared dream being to make Trattoria Aldini the best restaurant in Italy and the world. He is fiercely loyal to his brother and acts as his emotional support, encouraging him and helping him stay grounded.

Throughout the story, Isami plays a supportive role, often acting as a loyal sous-chef to Takumi. He also builds a strong friendship with the protagonist, Sōma Yukihira, and is shown helping him during events like the Moon Banquet Festival. In the Autumn Election preliminaries, he steps into the spotlight as a solo competitor, creating an innovative Italian-Japanese fusion dish, the Curry Bread Calzone. Although his dish received praise, he failed to advance past the preliminaries and was relegated to supporting Takumi for the rest of the tournament. Later, in a match against the powerful First Seat of the Elite Ten, Tsukasa Eishi, Isami is defeated and faces expulsion, highlighting the immense difficulty of his class.

Isami’s development revolves around finding his own identity as a chef separate from his twin. Initially aware of his own lack of finesse compared to Takumi, he works hard to find his own style, which is characterized by bold, creative ideas that blend Italian and Japanese flavors. His journey is about gaining confidence in his own approach rather than simply trying to mimic his brother.

As a cook, Isami specializes in Italian cuisine, particularly dishes that incorporate Japanese influences. He is highly proficient with the mezzaluna, a curved knife that is a signature tool of the Aldini family, which he often uses in tandem with his brother for synchronized chopping. He also demonstrates strong knife skills and the ability to work well as part of a team or support staff. Following the conclusion of the central events in the story, Isami achieves his goal of earning a seat on the Tōtsuki Elite Ten Council.
