TV-Series
Description
Miza Kusakari is a ghoul and a former executive of the Aogiri Tree organization. She is known by the alias Three Blades, a name derived from the distinctive shape of her kagune. She served as the leader of the 18th ward and the head of the Blades gang. Physically, she is a short-statured woman with a unique hairstyle featuring a high top-knot or ponytail and pieces framing her face; she is often seen wearing the long robes typical of Aogiri Tree members. Her eyes and long hair are purple. At the time of her introduction, she is thirty-one years old, a fact that occasionally prompts younger characters such as Naki to refer to her as old lady.
Her personality is marked by reasonableness and seriousness. She is a disciplined and pragmatic leader who works to temper the more impulsive members of her group, particularly Naki. She is driven by a desire to protect her allies and maintain order within the ghoul community, and she holds a strong sense of duty and responsibility. She speaks politely to those she respects, such as Hinami Fueguchi, and she apologizes when situations get out of hand. Her strategic thinking and leadership abilities make her a respected figure among her peers, though her firm adherence to her principles can sometimes lead to conflict with more emotional or erratic characters.
Miza comes from a clan of inbred bikaku-type ghouls that historically hid underground. Prior to the events of Tokyo Ghoul:re, she was involved in a territorial dispute with the Bin brothers. She initially appears as a minor antagonist affiliated with Aogiri Tree but later transitions into a supporting protagonist. Her role in the story includes participating in key battles and navigating the power dynamics within the ghoul organization. After being captured by the Commission of Counter Ghoul, she works to support Ayato Kirishima in efforts to retrieve her. Her character development reflects a nuanced struggle with leadership, loyalty, and the moral ambiguities of the ghoul world.
Her kagune, which manifests as three blade-like protrusions, is her primary weapon in combat. While not among the most powerful ghouls in the setting, she is considered highly dangerous and is classified as S-Rated by CCG investigators. This ability, combined with her tactical mind, allows her to effectively lead her squad in the violent environment of the 18th ward.
