OVA
Description
Nasuti Yagyuu is the daughter of a French mother and a Japanese father, born in Canada, who was visiting her paternal grandfather in Japan when the demon Talpa launched his invasion of the mortal world. She has no superhuman powers or weapons of her own, but she possesses extensive knowledge of the mystical armors worn by the Samurai Troopers and of various ancient artifacts, which she uses to provide vital information and guidance to the five warriors. In the original television series she is seventeen years old, and by the time of the Legend of the Inferno Armor OVA she is in her early twenties.
Her personality is defined by composure, intelligence, and a strong sense of responsibility. She acts as a caretaker for the young boy Yuli and gradually becomes like an older sister to the Troopers, offering emotional support as well as practical assistance. She is not a fighter, but she repeatedly places herself in danger to help the group, demonstrating considerable courage and resourcefulness. Her primary motivation is to protect the world from the forces of the Evil Dynasty and to ensure that the Troopers can fulfill their destiny.
In the Legend of the Inferno Armor, Nasuti plays a crucial role in deciphering the mysterious language used by the enemy Mukala, which allows the Troopers to understand the threat they face. She also uses her knowledge to transport herself and her companions to the location where Ryo Sanada and Sage Date are stranded, enabling the group to reunite and continue the fight. This OVA presents her as an indispensable strategist and translator whose intellect is as important as the Troopers physical strength.
Her key relationships include a close bond with the five Troopers, especially Ryo, whom she consistently supports. She also works alongside the Ancient One, another ally who provides mystical aid, and she looks after Yuli as a maternal figure. Later, in the subsequent OVA Message, she is shown attending a special session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, where she intends to inform world leaders about the existence of the Troopers and the hidden threats they face.
Her development across the series and OVAs shows her growing from a knowledgeable student into a confident young woman who takes initiative on a global scale. She evolves from a supporting researcher into a key actor who can independently locate allies, decode ancient languages, and navigate international diplomacy. Her notable abilities are entirely scholarly: linguistic analysis, historical research, and practical problem-solving under pressure. She is the intellectual anchor of the group, compensating for their lack of arcane knowledge with her own accumulated wisdom.
